Course Curriculum Overview

5

Relevance of MBBS would be 10/10, comprehensiveness to would be the same! Lending a helping hand to the needy is one thing that influenced me to take up this course. I also wanted to see my hometown prosper in terms of health. The current curriculum is great to prepare you for the practical world, although it is a bit hectic and more demanding, but everything comes at a cost. Maybe if they reduced the classes a bit, the students could get more time to study by themselves, it is helpful and required too. There is so much syllabus to cover before every exams it gets difficult for a student to cover everything up. Frequency for exams is like once I'm every 2-3 months. Gets difficult with each passing exam.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship are not offered by companies here. Rather it is mandatory to be posted in the college itself under various departments for one year after completing MBBS. you'll receive a stipend of 36,500rs per month throughout your internship. You'll be posted in medicine, surgery, gynae, radiology, psychiatry, social and preventive medicine, derma, ortho, etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Tuition fee is 30000 rs at the time of admission. No subsequent fee is required thereby yearly or monthly, hence it's only 6000rs per yr, and you're done! Hike is rare since it is a government college after all. Complete cost would be somewhere around 1.5-2.0 lacs, considering every other necessary expenses in the commodities and stuffs required to study mbbs. Scholarship from the NSP portal like Ishan Uday, NEC etc are available for the students, eligibile students can apply and avail the benefits.

Campus Life

5

Amc has a rich cultural heritage and a great relationship with the people who have passed out from here. This is proved by the precious infrastructures gifted by the senior alumni batches of AMC who passed out years ago. These beautiful structures, say a park, a huge clock tower, a plate to rest etc are provided by the ancestors who passed out from this college. Overall everything makes the campus life worth it! I don't think you'll find such a campus life in any other medical colleges in assam. We call our lovely annual fest "synapse", held somewhere around October. Almost all medical books and lots of journals are available in the library. But you may have trouble finding non medical books in the library. We have smart classrooms here, with projectors, smart tv, air conditioners etc. Lots of sports and extracurricular activities are held throughout the year! If you're into something then you're going to love it here! We had an ngo set up by the students to aid the needy during covid.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel room- clean, tiled, well maintained, wardrobe attached, 24x7 electricity, 24x7 water services, and bathrooms cleaned daily! Meal quality is not so good, I'd say it is average but quite better than the previous places I've stayed in during my coaching period. You simply need to opt for hostel during admission time and they'll allot you a hostel and a room number. Hostels are very much affordable here. It only around 2500 per month on an average. We also have aqua guards inside the hostel for drinking water and stuffs.

Admission

We got admittet here in 2020, the covid year. Admission was semi online otherwise it is completely offline. You are to select the colleges of your preference and wait for the counseling dates. You need to crack NEET-UG in order to get admitted to MBBS course in Assam Medical College. Application form etc are made available in the official website of DME after declaration of NEET results. All details get uplpaded there. Exams are held every 2-3 months, they get difficult with each passing exams, final year exams being the toughest. But exams are good overall. As such there is no drawbacks in the admission process, everything is fair and transparent. You need to crack NEET-UG of you want to pursue MBBS here in AMC, Dibrugarh

Faculty

4.5

Faculties are obviously competent and talented, as you have to be either an MD or MS or even DM/MCh in order to teach in a medical college. Faculty student ratio differs from department to department. On an average I'd say it is somewhere around 1 teacher per 10 students. Approach to teaching and mentorship of the teacher varies from one to other, some will give you a great insight into clinical knowledge others may give you a rough idea. Interaction with teachers happen at least once everyday, but teachers are not really that approachable here as they are doctors and have lots of patients to attend to. They have to manage between treating patients and attending to the woes of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is a course of choice for many people in our country. This is one of the most relevant courses you'll ever get. The profession of doctor itself is a encouraging one. Here the teaching is pretty well. Teachers will keep telling you real life scenerios and how they differ from our books. You'll get a good experience in this college as the patient load in hospital is quite good. You'll get a good chance to be a good doctor in real world.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose MBBs because it's a noble profession. A human being must serve people and society and it can be best done by being a doctor. That's why I chose MBBS. All faculties are NEET: PG qualified. Faculties are great experienced but few of them fail to deliver their knowledge fully but that's only a few. The faculty ratio is 1:20. The teaching method is mainly practical. Clinical exposure is given from 1st year itself. And for the theory part, there are smart classes available. The frequency of exams is high. More than twice a month you have to appear for an exam, may it be a semester or internal assessment or part completion test. Exams are not MCQ-based and the difficulty is moderate. A punctual study from starting makes it easy to pass any exam.

Exams are having a fixed schedule and they are usually conducted in that specific schedule only. Every faculty are MBBS+MS/MD. Every year in March our final exam used to conduct.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I want to become a doctor that's why I choose mbbs course in this college. The Course Curriculum and Exam structure are set by the National medical council. It's a 4.5 years course+1 year internship +1 year rural posting. We have regular internal exams but the university exams occur at the end of the 2nd semester, 5th semester, 7th semester, and 9th semester. Initially, the course is theory-based but later is more of a practical approach with quite enough clinical exposure and patient interactions. All faculties are expert and well trained.
