- Less scholarships are given. I think meritorious students should be given fee concessions.
- Fine structure is so high at the end of even semesters. It should be reduced.
- More extra curricular activities should be conducted so that students from all departments could engage well
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for MA ECONOMICS and I think it's my best decision to apply for this course in GGDSD COLLEGE as the economics faculty is so good. Teachers are so humble that they explain to each and every concept with such intensive and deep knowledge by giving practical real life examples. The pattern and examinations everything is well suited to the needs keeping in view the future of the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
In respect to fee structure, the tution fees of GGDSD is high as compared to other colleges. Besides approx. Rs. 29000 as tution fees for a year. Extra charges of around Rs. 5000 are charged for the examination fees. I think it should be reduced keeping in view the parents income sources. Scholarships are also provided to students with income less than 8 lakhs per annum. But I think meritorious students should be aided with scholarships too but no such thing is done. I, myself topped in my examinations but no great honor is given. Such things are overlooked.
Campus Life
So I completed my graduation from GGDSD itself and now pursuing my post graduation here. I have spent almost 4 years in this campus. Overall social environment of the college is good. Variety of extracurricular activities are offered, sports meets. Annual college fests 'VIRASAT', youth fests , rotoract clubs and many more.
Admission
The admission process is not much complex. The application form is available online but fees of filling the form is Rs. 1000 . I think it must be reduced . Also, admission is mostly on merit basis not on entrance. Reservation benefits are provided to a lesser extent.
Faculty
Faculty members are all highly educated and Phd professors who avail best teaching skills to the students and help students in each aspect. Teachers interact well with students as well as they always assist the students in solving their problems. Education of our college is best among all the colleges where the interaction between students and teachers is the most.
