Remarks

The college management is really good and feasible for students they are always available for help and do not delay any work which we usually see in government institutions overall, i would say the college provides a good platform for the students who are focused and want to achieve something in life.

Entrance Preview

The admission for Masters in Psychology is based on merit, so there was no particular entrance exam but yes the cut off was really high.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is research based the course curriculum is really thorough and the choice of choosing any major specialization in the second year is a really good option. Moreover in the first year you can build up you basics that act as the base for your future study. The practicals are based on actual problems that give insight into the real time things of life such as concept formation, learning, memory, depression, etc the assessment criteria is really good as a student can express his or her handwork through creative representation of topics and other survey researches of individual interests it gives the teacher an idea of how well the student is grasping the syllabus and is into the course.

Internships Opportunities

There are no particular placements in the Arts fields or any internships available currently in the Psychology field as its an newly rising field. But the teachers do post links on facebook and emails about whatever knowledge they have about any recent internship or workshop openings.

Placement Experience

4

No information available but I do know about my three seniors one of them got a job offer of HR Manager in Vogue Magazine the other got the job of counselor in the millennium school and the third got a job of HR in The Trident Group at an initial package of 12lakh per annum.

College Events

4.5

Youth culture fest conducted under the Panjab university it is Intra-State based college event it includes competitions ranging from debates, poetry, dance, photography, etc. Sparkles- it is a UT based fest where local colleges of chandigarh participate in competitions from dance, modelling, singing, debates, etc star night one special star night is conducted where stars from Babbu Mann, Gurdas Mann, Badshah, etc perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible keeping in mind that it is a private institute but it still provides various scholarships for the socio-economically weak people. There are scholarships available from alumnus or pioneers of the society. I have seen people get fee reductions even based on their attendance.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is full fee scholarship for extremely intelligent yet economically weak students there is SC/ST scholarship there are other scholarships available too in the name of great pioneers. I have seen people get fee reductions even based on their attendence.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio is almost 10 females to 8 males there are a lot of societies in college. Lassya is the main dance group of college there is a modelling team there is a dramatics group an IT group. We have a debates team that went on a national level. The main attraction of the college is the cricket association that has given birth to players like Kapil Dev and Yuvraj Singh and many more.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I am not a hosteler so do not have enough knowledge to answer this particular question. I do live in a PG the average rent goes upto to 6-7000rs per person the facilities are fine the more you pay, the more facilities you get. Usually AC is provided or a cooler you have access to a kitchen and laundry services as well.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are really really helpful i have never seen any kind of ragging in the college they are respectful people and the alumni network is also very strong.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is semester based there is one house test of twenty marks in October and then final semester exam in December. The same applies to one house test in march and then final semester in may the exams are not hectic and proper study break is given with a student oriented datasheet.

Admission

The admission was merit based. The process included submission of an online form and then counselling was done on a fixed date. The process was made really easy for the students as it was hassle free. Old students and administration was there to help any student or parent in doubt. The students or parents were notified about every update through text messages and emails.

Faculty

5

The faculty is really particular about nurturing the students and honing their skills in the research field they picked up everything from the basics and are building us into research scholars they are really supportive and understanding, allowing students to come up with doubts as many times as they want to they are knowledgeable and always prepared with their studying material and never leave any student unattended.

Numerous companies keep collaborating with the university and many students are placed every year. The minimum value of package is 3.5Lpa and it goes up to 12Lpa depending upon the course and the ability of the students My plan after this degree is to clear the net/jrf because i want to be a professor in my respective subject.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was my dream to be a good teacher and by choosing this subject I'm able to build my communication skills and I've got a different perspective by reading about different personalities of writers. Best thing about this course is that you'll get to know about different cultures and different thoughts of people which helps me in bringing good things into my mind. I think there should be placements for this course also. Our campus is too crowded but the space for students is more than enough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is lengthy and monotonous. It is time consuming and the semesters are short. Usually a semesters lasts for not more than 4 months we get very little time to prepare for our exams. Also the syllabus needs to be updated and changed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The best thing about this curriculum is that it is non very burdensome for us and easy to navigate through. It is well divided into multiple units making it easier to navigate through. For example - there is this course of key concepts in the very first semester which lays foundation for upcoming all semesters. Similarly in the first semester, we are taught Constitution of India laying the basics very clear . I personally choosed this course due to my interest and it's application in almost every competition exam out there. There can be a little bit improvement regarding the introduction of research methodology courses. Since there are no courses yet, it often cause a problem for students who want to pursue PhD in future. The frequency of exams is fine enough as there is a lot of time for us to adjust in the new semester and enjoy all the curricular and co curricular activities without a constant load of examinations all the time. This is the best thing I find.
