GEU college review from a freshers perspective

The course curriculum is actually impressive . It adeptly bends theorectical knowledge with practical knowledge . It prepares you for real world problems and you would seamlessly gell up in a corporate situation with the knowledge and experience provided. Thogh its a great curriculum I think they should improve the frequency of tests because there are only two per semester.

Companies like Tata , Birla , Amazon , Google provide internship program with junior level roles. Internship programs are provided to all the couses with optimal stipend with average of 7000 per month.

Students are eligible for placements from their second last semester. Companies like Amazon, Google , capegemini, Paypal etc visited this year and around 300 students were placed. The highest package was 60LPA and the average of around 600000. My plans after getting the degree would be to do a job through on campus or off campus placements

The tution fee generally increase 5000 per year or so. The total cost for three years in my course would be somewhere around 1500000 INR. GEU provides various scholarships and concession like: 1. 5% for girl child 2. 5% for police army brat etc 3. Scholarship ranging from 3000 to 20000 per semester according to your 12th marks. There are many more scholorships like these provided to the students. The campus placements are quite Noticeable with average placemet of around 600000.

The biggest college fest of uttrakhand happens at GEU. There are two grafest which happens in october and may. The may one is the biggest college fest in the north. The graphethon which is a three day long coding event is currently happening with prizepool of 600000. Events like these happen very regularly. The Library have all the books you need for your respective course and a plathora of journals and non acedemic books. Its a heaven for a bookwarm. The sports are little behind. Only a few sports with no proper ground facilities. There are several college clubs for diffrent interest of students like swaragni for dance and singing, debsoc for debating etc.

The hostels are very good. Big and airy rooms , clean and proper mess and all the basic facilities. The menu comprises of 2 protien 1 carb and 1 roughage choice for each meal for breakfast dinner and lunch. The taste is ok and quakity is good. The hostel registration can be done online or offline and the fees for this year is average of 140000. If you want to live independently , the whole locality comprises of nothing but shops, PGs and flats for students.

For BCA you will need atleast 60% in your 12th exams with any streams. No entrance exam needed. Everything of addmission can be done online from the official GEU site . FOr the reserved castes the percentage drops to 50%.

The faculty at GEU is optimally qualified I think. They know how to make a student understand different things. The ratio is 1:150 approx which i think is quitye good .Every faculty has plenty of experience with diffrent type of students with each professor with their own style of teaching and generally its effective. the interaction with the faculty is regular. They will ask you questions , regualar assignments and will have a general talks and will mentors you for the near future. Overall great experience.
