Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum becomes very tough at times. It may seem easy at the beginning but trust me at the time of endsems it becomes tough as hell. And again it depend on courses as well. Some courses are very useful in real world applications where others are just to open new dimensions of your thinking. Exams again depend on faculty, some may take quiz every week while others may take total of 2-4 quizzes during whole sem along with midsem endsem.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee is 1 lakh per semester. If you avail no scholarship then your whole 4 years of college may cost you around 12 lakhs . However there are many good scholarships available both private and govt which help a lot.
Campus Life
IIT kanpur has three major fests Antaragni(cultural) , Techkriti (technical), and Udghosh (sports) along with something or the other always happening during the whole year. The library is huge you can literally get any book you want. Infrastructure is also very good with all facilities available be it sports, medical, good classrooms etc.
Admission
IIT kanpur is one of the premium institute of our country so of course you have to be in top brains competing in JEE mains and advanced. Reservation is there just like all govt institutes which may help.
Faculty
Ratio depends on course and on branch, it can be as low as 30:1 and as high as 600:1 for some courses. The faculties are very highly qualified and Excellent in terms of knowledge. Although in terms of teaching there may be some professors who are not good at teaching by extremely knowledgeable and also professors are easily approachable.
