Course Curriculum Overview
My course, Information Technology is pretty good. It covers almost all of the core CS concepts just like CSE. We have something called tutorial classes every week where we'll be solving questions on board and presenting the solutions to the class. The curriculum is good for GATE and other exams but for industry, students need to work on it themselves Exams are conducted monthly. Minors, mids, and ends. Minors have no internal marks weightage.
Internships Opportunities
Our faculty members post about internship opportunities and provide assistance. Our placement cell also works to get students into internships. However, most of the internships are unpaid and the student has to pay the company in return.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placements from their 6th semester. No core companies visit the campus, its mostly service based IT companies with a few product based companies. This year we got only 250 offers due to recession. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Oracle, IBM, and Amazon visit the campus during placements and the average package is 4lpa with the highest being 31lpa. Usually most of the students get placed but due to recession most of the students aren't getting any jobs
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee is 1,25,000 INR via EAMCET for all branches. There are additional hidden costs such as labs, end-semester fees, and other equipment that the student has to purchase separately. Students can get fee reimbursement through eamcet if they're eligible and scholarships are also available through other govt schemes.
Campus Life
There are two major fests in the college: Sanskriti (Cultural Fest] and Sumshodini (Technical Fest). Sumshodhini is held during Odd semester and Sanskriti during even semesters but this year sanskriti got cancelled due to timing issues. College has a central library that issues books to students for free and there are many books in the library with reference books, research papers, etc. Each classroom has its own projector but no computer. Faculty has to bring laptops. The college has a lot of sports events and tournaments every week. Clubs conduct events very frequently. College has SAC which has a lot of clubs under it. There are also technical bodies such as ISTE and IEEE which require membership
Hostel Facilities
There is a separate boys and girls hostel. Boys hostel is divided into juniors and seniors hostels. They have a common mess. Rooms are well-maintained and spacious. Mess food isn't that good and can get boring and routine. The menu isn't varied either. It's just rice and curries most of the time, with a few specials on some days. One can register for a hostel while joining the college and it costs around 63000 INR for an entire year.
Admission
Admission is done through EAMCET or management quota. With eamcet, you need to have the rank required for the branch and 50% score in your 10+2. Dates for eamcet are announced by tsche EAMCET offers reservation benefits that one can avail. SC/ST students who have fee reimbursement can borrow books from library throughout the semester without paying library charges or dues. For management quota, one can approach the administration office and go through the process. The donation fee is about 3-5 lakhs.
Faculty
There are enough faculty members to teach the students and they're available after college hours for doubt clarification. Professors are always willing to help students after college hours. Students can also work with professors on research papers and projects, however, students have to approach professors first. Each student is assigned a counselor who will take care of attendance and other matters and will be a guide in college.
