- Placements are one of the main factor for which I chose the DTU as it really has good placements. There are lot of societies in which one can participate on whatever feild you like. DTU tech are competing in the world level and getting in even top 3
Dislikes
- I think curricullum of this university is very backward as current time. Professors are very less interested in teaching students properly. One does not get real life learning through the curriculum and no industry level knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was really interested in Computer Science, coding, new technologies so I opted for that. Student Intake is increasing day by day in DTU. As per my knowledge one faculty has two batches means 75+75 = 150 students Faculties are really very qualified, you will find most faculty from IITD in DTU.Our 1st year chemistry teacher had represented India in UK, Singapore, Malasia etc. And he is a member of American Chemical Society. Teaching method is ok as it includes white board marker method, projector are also there but used by very less teacher. Teachers who really want to teach teaches very well, unfortunately most are not too interested in teaching. We have to give Mid sem and End sem examination for pass one semester. For mid sem you need to start studying at least 1 week before exams and for end sem you need to study atleast 2 weeks before. In first year we did not get any holiday in between examination ( 5 days back to back exams). Generally exams are based on PYQs .
Internships Opportunities
I am still in 2nd year so not yet applied for the on campus companies internships but as per seniors review I can tell that you get great experience as many many MNC's are there in DTU for internships which offers great stipend. I have worked for DTU in house internships (USIP) for the field of gadgets and operations. It offers 3500 rs per month for 32 hours ( which on real life is about 10 hours). They also give you the expirience certificates for the internships. In the interview of the USIP they really ask good level of question according to the field you are applying for. There is also an intern program which offers to teach about basics of computers to the government school students called lab on wheels which is also great for good expirience.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester one can apply for the internships for the companies visiting the college. For placements a student can sit in 7th semester. Also many many students get Pre placement for after completion of the internships. About 400 companies visits Dtu so yeah there are lot of opportunities and about 1200 offers were made. Highest package this year was low because of recession which was about 54 lpa(not sure as no stats released) and average package depends on branch to branch . I am in CSE , so for cse it was about 12 lpa. Placement percentage also depends on the brach asn for cse it was 65 percent , IT 55 percent, Software 60 percent, Mce 59 percent, ece 46 , ee 44, me 49 , AE 39, PE 32, CE 31, ENE 39, EP 31, CH 46. My plan is to get a job after completing my degree as Btech I in DTU give your resume a strong boost and you are ready to go for applying for job roles.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees of dtu is increasing by about 10 thousand rupees every year and now it is about 250000 per semester. As a govt. institute it should not be too much. complete cost of mine is about 9lacs without hostel but if you going to get admitted now then it would be 10 lacs without hostel. Dtu provides scholarships, one is launched by dtu only but they give to only those students whose yearly income is less than 2 lacs. One more scholarship is given by the delhi government, which is called district, but I don't know why it is not coming for the last 2 years. You get lot of opportunities for placement and internships in DTU from different companies but with lot of competition also as student intake is increasing day by day. If you have a good cgpa and good skills then you can get a job. Dtu also provides inhous Internship in various fields like web d , gadgets and operation, data analysis , report and documentation and many more for various departments like international affairs, humanities
Campus Life
There ae many fests in DTU and stu is famous for it all over north India. there are many fests like Invictus , e summit , many hackathon , engi fest where many artist like sidhu mossewal , sunidhi chauhan and many famous artist cam infests. Fest happens in every 2 months . DTU library are very good you get a lot of variety and you can even issue them. DTU classrooms are fully AC , also with the projector. Newly made academic block is really great. SPorts facilities are great in dtu as many facilities for different sports indoor and outdoor are available . there is also a gym which is going to upgrade soon with new ac and machines. There are many students run societies for debating, dance, singing, MC's, tech society, AI, ML , public speaking out of which some are really great. Dtu also has NCC which is also great from students because it makes a student disciplined and develops leadership and management skills.
Admission
You have to Give Jee Mains Examination and you need to score more than 60% in boards. You have to apply through JAC Delhi for admission in DTU.Which cost 1500 for registration and after getting a seat you need to pay 95000 ( as per my time) to lock your seat. Registration of Jac Delhi generally opens after the Jee Advanced Examination. I feel Jac website can be made more fast by using good servers and seat allotment process should give results on time , as last time it announced the result on next day 2 AM . I got EWS reservation , if you are a general candidate and your yearly income is less than 8lacs and you don't possess any land or home then you can avail it. It gives reservation for 10 percent seats. There are two exams per semester one is mid-sems and other is end sems .Many teachers also conduct internal exams for internal markings. Exams in dtu generally follow a certain pattern so now must go through pyqs
Faculty
I think faculty are very less in DTU, so most Ph.D. scholars are teaching in classes that are generally not great regarding knowledge. They are just teaching just because it is there job. Generally, they skip the classes and prepare for their own . I find that professor and teacher are not clear about the syllabus . Literally you have to request them a lot to get the study material and correct syllabus. In different batches for the same subject teachers are teaching different things. I have been many times teachers are just copying their 10 years old notes or a standard book in the board and just repeating the words of books. Faculty here are very qualified , most of them are from IIT's and some professor guides really well but I don't interact with teachers too much as mostly they are always in kind of mood to avoid the students and go back. Although one can approach them easily as their room numbers are mention the department.
