One of the best engineering colleges in India with beautiful campus and great student life.

IIT JEE, Low rank made me choose this course. Those were the days when not many options were available and based on your rank you would get the seat.

Course curriculum was very comprehensive and exhaustive.

I didn't get into any internship programs. I tried at various colleges and companies but was unable to get one. Since no internship I worked on some project at college itself. however no stipend.

Placements were good in the IT sector. No core companies used to visit and also core companies of Civil were not paying handsomly.

Manthan - Intra College event which was really awesome. Alcharinga - Inter Collegiate Event. Best Part about Alcharinga was the Rock Show. I guess the Rock competition at Alcharinga is best in the country.

Per semester the fee was about Rs. 29,000 at that time. This was excluding the mess or other charges. May be bit on the expensive side, but you get scholarships and loans at reasonable rates.

Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship was given to various students. Also loan facility was available from various banks.

Extra-curricular is one of the best at IITs. One of the best facilities at Guwahati. Although, We didn't had a swimming pool. I hope they have built one for the students.

Hostels are one of the best. You will get individual room right from the first year. Mess food is messy :)

I'm connected with my colleagues. However, not much networking is done. We do have yahoo and whatsapp group, we are not connected much with our seniors.

Frequent exams and quizes. You typically have mid-semester exam and then end-semester exams. But in between you are flooded with small tests, projects which is all graded.

The Faculty was new but was good. The IIT was new, so many of the professors were from other IITs as well as the other well known colleges.
