Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

specific aspects of the curriculum which got me interested are PR, advertising, marketing, journalsim. the curriculum is robust and holistic and makes sure you gain hands on experience and skills to be ready for the outside world. Practical work is conducted very well with enough guidance. some areas of improvement can be that Video editing can be taught in a more consistent and detailed way,, as well as graphic design Semester exams are conducted twice a year ie once in Dec or Jan and again in May or june. other than that we have 4 Continuous assessments and 2 Practical Continuous assessments for each semesters which are compulsory for every student. The difficulty level for Semester exams is quite a lot and its very tedious as it is conducted under MAKAUT and as for the internal assessments conducted by the college , if you have gone through the syllabus by heart you will score pretty good marks.

Internships Opportunities

3

Our college provides internship across multiple PR and Ad agencies across the country like Perfect Relations, Adfactors , Media Mantra etc as well as film agencies like SVF, and radio offices like mirchi, Red FM.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure includes..56,000 per semester ie around 112000 for a year and roughly abour 4-5 lakhs for 3 year course. Government scholarships are available for those who have graduated high school from west bengal board.

Campus Life

4

Events like Journoscope, Ad Adda, Heritage Academy film festival , and numerous other seminars take place. Range and availing of books of this particular discipline is limited but books of BBA, BCA are available Sports events like Academy Premier League which includes Basketball, Cricket, football takes place once a year. Clubs like fashion club, drama club , music club afe quite active and participate vibrantly across inter college fests.

Admission

The admission process primarily consisted of 1. The CET entrance exam conducted by Makaut which basically tests the student's performance on general knowledge, basic numericals, verbal ability, logical reasoning, english etc. One has to secure a certain rank ie below 1k in order to qualify. up next is the personal interview round where the student is interviewed by the principal or the dean of the organization on personal values z achievements, goals and skills. These two are mainly the key steps in getting accepted in the heritage academy. the application dates, form and fee can be found on the original website of The heritage Academy ie tha.edu.in and the information regarding the entrance test can be found on the MAKAUT exam portal. The cet exam is conducted in an interval of 3-4 months and the difficult level is medium.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum was well-structured, and each semester, there were projects and presentations that also helped to test our knowledge. I got influenced as the curriculum provides us with financial economics, political economics, and Applied mathematics. The level of the exams was decent, related to the course. They could improve in teaching more practical knowledge and projects related to that, instead of only learning in a theoretical way.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job oppurtinities are less since this is an undergraduate college offwering honours degree. Though there is a placement and career councelling cell that looks over this matter. Placements are offered only in a few subjects, such as industrial chemisrty and computer science. The rate of placements are very high and come with high packages. Though I am not interested in placements, but I have started taking preparations for compititive exams. Such preparations are very supported here, rather than jobs and placements.
