Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum taught is fairly relevant to the industry requirements and the quality of teaching is a coin flip. Some professors can single handedly prepare you for the exams, and even beyond, while others leave a lot to be desired. Exams occur every 2/2.5-ish months for the most part barring some odd cases. Exams can be tough or a cakewalk, it only depends on the work put in, during and before the exam. Can not say the same for all branches though. Even if the exams are genuinely tough, it is tough for everyone so no need to worry :)
Internships Opportunities
Many top tier companies come with internship opportunities in the university. A good stipend is offered to many top performing students. Many students get to experience the industry up close due to the ample opportunities provided.
Placement Experience
Internship opportunities come as early as the 3rd and 4th semesters, and a whole internship drive is at the end of the 4th semester. Companies visit the campus and offer various internship opportunities with a good stipend. On-Campus placements are very successful every year and the data goes to show for it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is predetermined and can be found out at their website. The complete cost came at around 9.5 lakhs for me. The fees is, however, increasing every year. Many scholarships are awarded to students, however academic scholarships are almost non-existent.
Campus Life
There is an abundment of clubs and activities a student can expect going into the college. Many fests, technical and cultural, happen every year and are a city-wide phenomena. Infrastructure for sports is very well maintained and many extracurricular activities are there for students to indulge in. There are many student run clubs and societies which are a must for a student looking to meet people with the same interests and contribute towards the goal of the society.
Admission
Admission is done on basis of JEE mains rank. To apply head on to the JAC website and the appropriate steps can be followed from there. Reservation is for home state (85% for delhi students) and caste and gender based reservations are there. Mains are usually held twice every year and the duration is of 3 hours. Due to the sheer amount of students, cracking and acing is quite hard. As for the areas for improvement in the admission process, just the reservation for me :)
