Course Curriculum Overview

This college has produced many great scientists and engineers working in top rank spots of our country. This shows the amount of work they put in to build our upcoming career. There is not much work needed in the course to be better as it has some of the best education facilities. The exams are quite difficult but due their teaching we find it quite easy.

Internships Opportunities

There have been many internship courses provided by companies and government in collaboration with Microsoft and AICTE which provide a wide variety of intership courses ranging from Data Analysis, Machine Learning, IOT to all sorts of course that grab our intrest.

Placement Experience

From 3rd year students are eligible for campus placements. The college is highly valued by companies like TATA TCS, ADANI WIPRO, MICROSOFT, TALCHER THERMAL, SAIL and many more companies. There are placements of an average of 600000 rupees package but highest being 1400000 rupees and lowest being 400000 rupees which is a very good record for a college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college being a government college provides a very affordable fee structure along with all the government scholarship facilities. The complete cost of my education will come in about 200000 rupees which is quite low for an Engineering College. There are lot of intership opportunities from the beginning of the course along with proper training and international certification.

Campus Life

The College is highly famous for its eye feasting events and glorious fests including India's 5th most famous tech fest 'HORIZON'. Due to the facilities provided by the library we never have to buy any books or journals. They are easy accessable for all and for free. The college is highly appreciated for its sports performances and training by all Colleges all over India. There are many clubs for the mental and skills development for students.

Admission

The eligibility criteria is based on the results of the All India Joint Eligibility Exam results and provide quite fair and transparent admission criteria. They all can be accessed through NTA website provided by the government of India.

Honest Opinion in the college

Placement Experience:

There are internship opportunities at the starting of 3rd year and job opportunities at the starting or 4th year. This year many companies visited the campus which include DE Shaw, Flipkart, Oracle, TCS, VISA(for summer internship drive), and various start-ups like Sarvam AI and many more. Highest package was 56.8LPA by DE Shaw. Flipkart took a total of 20 candidates (12 were selected for 34.5LPA and 8 for internship opportunities). Average package going around 9LPA. TCS mass recruited candidates for around 4 LPA, and ORACLE has been consistent at taking candidates for 24 to 25 LPA. Percentage of Students placed for CSE branch is 90. Many students opt for M Tech courses via GATE exam after getting their degree.

Value For money college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.

The course and curriculum is nice as they are interelated to each other and encourage us to study more and makes us more curious to learn new things but we have some minor course which I don't think it is required for the course and we only have some credits for that course not even exam is being conducted

The excellent university of odisha

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem of completion eligible to sit in placement called by campus placement in university. Companies like accenture, techmahindra,tech bee,and wipro comes for hiring. Highest package till now is 29 lpa and lowest is 1.5 lpa. Average package is 5lpa. Mostly 80 percentage of students getting placement from campus drive. My plan after getting degree is getting job from campus drive.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology is a government college but provides much more facilities like private colleges.

In odisha we have a specific counselling procees named as OJEE counselling. In this we have to apply for many colleges as we want. I chose this college for this particular branch . Electrical engineering is a very respected branch in our college as many industries are built near this area which take students from campus selections.
