The overall environment is really very good.

Dislikes

I think hostel facilities could be better than this.
Theory classes could be better as it is not really satisfying.
I think more importance should be given for studies too.

I really liked medical field and i was keen to get into a government medical college. Clinical exposure provided by this college is very nice which is the most important thing to become a good medical professional. Exams are conducted very frequently.And difficulty level is high so that its not that easy to pass the exams.Hardwork is really required.

Internships Opportunities

There is a one year internship programme.And I think Calicut Medical College will provide the best place for this.As almost all the cases will be present in this college.it is one of the best. And we are getting about 25k per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition is fee is very less comparing to private medical college which are lakhs. Complete cost of the education is not much comparatively.And in government medical colleges during internship we will get enough stipent. There are many scholarships available.

Campus Life

Calicut medical college is one of the college which is giving very high importance for extra curricular activities. We have college union which provide enough activities for us to engage on. We have a very large stadium and coaches are also there to train us.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel will change.And it is different for different semesters.Not all hostels are very good. In girls hostel not much facilities are there but still its okay.And in every year renovations are happening here. Mess is good.

Hostel Fee: INR 2500 per year

Admission

Admission process was very smooth and well coordinated. Application form, application details etc was updated in the site of NTA soon after the result was published.All the process was highly coordinated so that we didn't experience any difficulties. Eligibility of the course is to get good score in NEET UG.

My dream college in reality.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is of high relevance as it ensures that the student learns everything he need to learn in an mbbs life to become a good doctor. The curriculum we are now following is decided by the National Medical Council (NMC) of India and is CBME curriculum. The curriculum include many Self directed learning methods and small group discussions etc which makes the learning interesting and easy. The curriculum definitely prepares the students to become a good doctor in future. Some minute improvements are still required like no need of these many SGDs for community medicine and forensic. It'll be better to include more field activities in community medicine . The frequency and timing of exams are sometimes a burden for the students as the exams are so close and they are not getting enough time to improve themselves which may affect their confidence. Sometimes the exams are scheduled in between some meets conducted by university which makes it difficult for the students to participate.

Calicut Medical College - an ideal place to learn and grow as a doctor

I got admission on state quota (general category) after giving the NEET exam in 2019. I scored 646/ 720 and had an AIR rank of 1039 and state rank of 131. The overall application process was easy and all the necessary forms were given in the college itself. The admission dates were informed in the state website of Kerala, which can be found after filling the application for state quota. Application fees was paid in the college treasury itself.
