Course Curriculum Overview
In four years of BTech CSE, two years include studying general subjects other than the CSE branch and the other two years are majorly focused on CSE. Other than core subjects, the institute also offers lateral, breath, and electives, which are subjects that focus on fields like personality development and knowledge of other fields like entrepreneurship. One BTech year is divided into two semesters, namely spring and autumn semesters. Usually, spring semesters have their endsems in April and autumn semesters in November.
Internships Opportunities
The institute provides on-campus internship opportunities. companies like DEShaw, Oracle, Samsung, Media.net, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc show up nearly every year. Companies like DEShaw, and Oracle provide very high stipends of more than one lakh per month. average stipend is around 50,000 to 40,000 per month.
Placement Experience
IIT Bhubaneswar offers on campus, internship and placement. Internship season starts after the end of the second year and placement season starts around the end of the third year's summer vacation. The institute had a really good placement before the recession with the highest CTC of 62.5LPA as per the data of 2022. Nearly 100% of students get placed in the CSE branch every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are charged every semester. Per semester you have to pay nearly RS 1,14,000 for tuition and hostel and nearly RS 14,000 for mess advance. There are several scholarships for students whose parents belong to a lower income income category. For families below one lakh of annual income, there is no tuition and hostel fees. Families below five lahks of annual income, receive some discount on their tuition and hostel fees. Talking about internship and placement, the recession and the institute's NIRF rank have impacted a lot of students, especially in batch 2021. At the time of writing, only 15–20 students have got internships out of a batch of 80 students.
Campus Life
The societies and fest culture at IIT Bhubaneswar are amazing. You'll find societies for nearly every passion you can imagine. Majorly three fests occur every year namely Wissenaire, Alma Fiesta and E-summit. Each fest has its own beauty and theme. Talking about facilities, IIT Bhubaneswar has a huge library which is one of the best libraries I've ever seen. You can find nearly any book over there and the library is perfectly air-conditioned. IIT Bhubaneshwar also holds a pretty good place in inter-IIT meets like Inter-IIT sports, cult and tech.
Hostel Facilities
IIT Bhubaneswar has one of the best hostels out of all IITs. Especially the new hostels are clean and elegant. The institute provides single accommodation in every hostel. hostel facilities include one table, one chair, one fan, one tube-light and a huge cupboard. Hostels are located in front of Barunei hills which provides great and green environment and sceneries to enjoy.
Admission
Admission into IIT Bhuleshwar includes clearing JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. Then it is followed by completing all the formalities that the college asks for.
