Course Curriculum Overview
The course taught in our college are really great if we are willing to pursue higher studies and go for reasearch. But we consider for the industry perspective and looking for jobs most of the courses here are not relevant.
Internships Opportunities
There are ample amount of intership oppurtunities available for students in our college. Apart from the industrial internships, several research internships opportunities are available. We usally take part in the internship process in our 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Placement of our college is nice. This year's placement was affected by the ongoing recession still the around 70-80% of our college got placed. Many companies offered package over 1 crore. The highest package secured is 2 crore.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of our college is 1 lakh 36 thousand. This constitutes the tuition fee, examination fee, gymkhana fee and mess establishment charge. We need to pay mess fee separately for each semester which is roughly 16 thousands. There are several scholarships available which makes our study here affordable
Campus Life
I was part of organizing team of Techkriti, which is annual technical fest of IIT Kanpur. My experience with the fest was very really great. There are several hobby clubs and societies in our college. Thus one can be a part of any of them. There are three fests in our college. These are Techkriti, Antaragni and Udghosh. These fests gives us the real feeling of college life.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facitity is good. There are total 13 hostels in our college. In the first two years of our college we are required to live in a 2 or 3 sharing accomodation. From the 3rd year, we get a single room. Mess food can rated to be just good. Not really bad and not really good.
Admission
The admission process of our college involved clearing two exams. These exams were JEE Mains and JEE advanced. After clearing this exam, I appreared in JOSSA counselling process and I got a seat in electrical engineering branch of IIT Kanpur.
