Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I had chosen course of computer science and engineering in the IIT Bhubaneswar. I chose this course because this is the only course at my interest and I think it is the best course in the engineering according to me and my interests. Faculty ratio in my college is very good. The faculty here are mostly also IITian, or a qualified professor, and are very much talented. Basically, the exams are held in two times per semester. First is midsem. And another is endsem. And it is quite interesting, but difficult.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship process starts in the August for the eligible students. And it is for the students who are in their pre final year. The companies that visit are DeShaw, Media Net, Oracle, Microsoft, etc. The stipend differs with the companies For example, Disha was offering 1,50,000 per month whereas Oracle was offering 1,00,000 per month On the other hand, media.net was also offering 1,50,000 per month for the summer internship. The rules that are usually offered are software development, data analytic, product management as I am in computer science branch. So these are the basically core roles we are opting for Also, students go for research internship, like in Samsung.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees per semester is around 1,00,000. And the hostel fee is 50,000. So overall, 1,50,000. Also, we can get fee waiver here to on the basis of income certificate If the monthly income is less than 1,00,000 and belongs to the obc, then we get full fee waiver. Otherwise, if the monthly income arranges between 1,00,000 and 3,00,000 then 2/3 fee will be forgiven. Also, the campus placement here is very good. Big companies like De Shaw, Media.net come every year and take so many students from my college.

Campus Life

5

Here the annual Techno Management fest is Wissenaire and the cultural fest is Alma Fiesta, which is held every year. And Wissenaire is the biggest fest in the northeast of India. Also, there are clubs like neuromancers which is for coders Then other clubs like robotics club, astronomics club, etc. Sports here is also very good. Students here participate in the inter IIT tech competition to represent our college. last year We got gold in the inter IITtech meet.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Here at iit BBS stay is the best part as the students are divided into different hall of residense. And each hall of residense has its own culture. The mess food depends on the hall of residense you have been allotted with. Some halls providing amazing food, whereas some with average. The mess fees have been kept quite affordable for everyone. All the students admitted to the iit bbs have on campus stay. All the halls provide single rooms. All the registration fee is paid during the admission process only.

Admission

The entrance exam was very competitive and demands hard work and persistence from the candidate. The name of entrance exam was JEE advanced. I started my preparation from 11th standard at a coaching institute in Patna at Mentors Eduserv in Bihar. I practised mock tests and strengthened my preparation. Finally, I cleared JEE MAINS and got a percentile of 99.549 in JEE MAINS and got a rank of 4217 in JEE advanced. The admission process was a little tricky because I had to submit a list of preferred colleges according to my rank and I had obtained a seat in that particular institute.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
