Pros and cons of NITAP

The curriculum is good in both academics and co-curricular activities. I am a student of ECE department and yeah, in our department we have humble professors with high qualifications. They teach us the syllabus along with the real life application and in which field we can take if we are interested in that topic. They gives us guidance and suggestions to write competitive exams like GATE and ISRO exams. For our branch they mostly suggested us to do M. Tech via GATE before taking the job. Exams are obviously tough because our department includes a subject of CSE too. We have exams for every month almost. We have our minor-1 exams of 10 marks in first month our semester, mind in second month of semester, we have our minor-2 exams but they are mostly given as assignment. Whether to conduct exam or give an assignment is completely professor's wish. At last endsem in last month.

Every branch offers internships under the guidance of permanent faculty. They assign projects and ask us for the development in the project. I actually don't know the companies stipend and the internship opportunities provided by it.

From 3rd year 2nd semester onwards students are eligible for placements. I don't know the exact number of companies visited but the number of companies visit is decreased in last 2 years maybe the post covid effect on industries. Highest package in this year is 48 lakhs per annum and average in 7.5 lakhs per annum. Around 83% of students are placed. I plan to continue my higher education before going to job.

There is no increment of tution fee with semester, it remains same and it is 66,000 rupees. For hostel there is change of fee in odd sem and end sem. In odd sem we have to pay 33,000 rupees and in even sem 27,000 rupees, which includes all bills like mess bill, electricity bill, medical bill. Students no need to pay anything other than tution fee and hostel fee. There is fees reimbursement provided for students whose parents annual income is less than 5 lakhs per annum and 1 lakh per annum. That is they pay their full fee in odd sem but money is credited back after verifying your documents. But they have to pay same hostel fee like others. For SC and ST students tution fee is only 2500 rupees and if they are applicable to fees reimbursement then their money will be credited back. Their hostel fee is also 1/3rd of the actual fee. Students generally opt for GATE exm Or go to campus placements. There are also internship opportunities to do but I don't know accurate stipend.

There are two major fests in every academic year.one is technical and other is cultural. Technical fest name is Techriya and name of the cultural fest is Vulcanzy. Some times both are conducted together or technical conducted around November and cultural conducted around february. In library we can find book of every type. From department wise textbooks and reference books to current affairs books, Weekly, monthly and seasonal magazines. Books of model papers and previous papers of competitive exams. In classrooms we have white board, black board and digital board. Most used one is digital board obviously. There is sports club with physical education trainers with ph. D qualification in their respective sport. There are many sports competitions held. Inter Nit - conducted between all the NIT's in India and intramurals conducted between departments of our college in all sports and inter hostel conducted between hostel blocks. Every there will be change in the hostel block. In 1st year , each room is accomodated by 4 students and each student gets their respective chai, table, study light and cupboard and room has 3 lights and 2 fans. Whereas in second year and third year, each room is accomodated with 2 students and same things are given to the students as in first year but the room has only two lights and two fans. In fouth year each student gets seperate room. Mess is actually contract based and contractors propose some menu with the details given by college and is asked for student mess representative for changes.

Admission into our college is through JOSA counseling after writing JEE Mains and qualifying with good score. I scored 96.3 percentile and I got ECE in our college with home state quota and female reservation. Coming into reservation benefits, for the people whose parents annual income is less than 5 lakhs per annum and 1 lakh per annum comes under OEB and MEB categories respectively. For them, they have to pay only 2500 rupees per semester and hostel fee. For SC, ST students their tution fee is 2500 rupees basically and if they are in OEB Or MEB categories they no need to pay that also and their hostel fee is 1/3rd of the actual hostel fee. In every semester they conduct ecams 4 times. First comes the minor-1 with 10 marks, next mid with 30 marks, minor-2 with 10 marks and at last end sem examinations of 50 marks. There will be internal lab exam conducted after mid exams and external lab exam conducted before end sem exams. Students will not face any problem during admission proces

There is no group discussion or interview for admission. But yeah we have to write entrance exam, JEE mains after qualifying with good percentile we have to apply in JOSA counseling with our required documents which is done via online. We will give our desired colleges list and branch in our preference order but after verifying our percentile along with all the other quotas applicable, seat is allocated.
