The review of BIT Mesra, Ranchi.

I was preparing for IIT. I could not make it up in the jeed advanced even in my drop year. However, I had performed quite well in JEE Mains, and I was getting premium and prestigious NITS, but my priority and only branch I wanted was CSE. During the Jossa counselling, I had prepared a well-thought-out college list, keeping CSE first. I did not get CSE in any of the NITS due to a large rat race, reservation(I was in other state) and also an increase in percentile. I felt really disheartened and dejected that I could have worked a little harder to increase my percentile by some decimal points.I had applied for CSAB as well, with the last hope that I would pursue CSE in my own state colleges(NIT JSR or BIT MESRA). However I still regret I should have kept NIT jsr first but unfortunately due to my own mistake, I got BIT Mesra. Nevertheless, whatever happend happened. I had admissions in many colleges and even NIT Durgapur too, if I have to name a prestigious college. I still chose BIT Mesra as the kind of facilities that our college has are much better than NIT Durgapur. Also, admission here are also based on rankings of various entrance exams....Read More

Entrance scores is the first criteria and the best part is there is a state quota of 50% but 50% is for outsiders and hence there are students from all over the country. The Mains ranking of 5000 is the cut-off for outsiders and 10-12000 for students with state domicile....Read More

BITS Pilani and it was not IITs which was my first choice. However, with the kind of competition that if faces as out of 5 lakh applicants only 1200 gets admissions there. As that was missed I was like I have one top college in my state only and hence I took admission in BIT Mesra as it also accepted BITSAT score....Read More

I had confirmed addmission from many top colleges like Christ University in Bangalore and SRM in Chennai but my criteria was certain. If I was getting BITS then it will be my first choice as in BITSAT I knew I won't be getting the Pilani one.
