Course Curriculum Overview

It was a great course with lot of practicals. Though no such Research initiatives were taken yet there were many industrial visits. You can select great elective subjects which will be of future use.

Internships Opportunities

Though the college did not provide any internship. But I did internship outside and though they did not pay a stipend yet it was a great experience.

Placement Experience

There were a huge lot of companies coming around. Around 35 percent got placed. Among the major companies were Mahindra and Amazon. Average package was around 2lakhs per annum

College Events

One of the main fests were Euphism. Others were Teacher's Day Infrastructure Day etc. The authorities contributed whole heartedly.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Well it was quite affordable as compared to other engineering colleges. At the beginning of 1st semester you have to pay 45k and along that 20k among which 9k is refundable. And per semester is only 45k

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college helped with loan and scholarship like Minorities scholarship, Ongc, etc. The college helped in loan in every possible way they can.

Hostel Facilities

There was only Girl's hostel in the campus. I was reciding outside. They did not have pg. The college's boys hostel was a bit far away from the college. That would cost 5000 per month.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

The college provided a great platform for interaction with the student alumni.

Faculty

The teachers are MTech qualified and some are also having PHD. Though highly qualified the teachers are interactive in nature. The standard of teaching was great. A student could easily understand the concept of each and every subject.

NIT Silchar Review: Campus, Career and Career Prospects

Placement Experience:

NIT Silchar has decent placement stat. Approx 75 percent student got placement from campus and they got decent package. In NIT Silchar from 7th semester students are eligible for placement and company comes whole year for recruiting. Approx 100 company visit the college throughout the year. In tech Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart and more companies come. For core L&T, Adani, Tata Steel and more companies come. For service base Infosys, TCS, Wipro will come and give good offer. Highest package will come from tech company and that is 52lpa and average from all companies will lie from 10 to 12 lpa . My plans is that in my 4th year atleast I will get one job. If I don't get job then I will try from off campus or giving paper for government job

Great college with decent infrastructure and a large campus

Placement Experience:

The placements here are actually decent. The average package for my branch was around 13.5 LPA last year and branches like CSE, EC and EI have a higher average package generally. The campus is visited by almost all of the top companies including Google, Adobe, Facebook, etc. The detailed placement records are available on the website of the institute.The percentage of students getting placed ranges anywhere between 70 percent to 92 percent. I plan to get an M.Tech degree after completing my B.Tech course from an IIT if possible.

Normally from third semester student become eligible campus placements but most usually take placements in fourth semester or fifth semester The percentage of getting placements are about 60% The highest package per company usually was ?80,000 per month and the average is around 20,000 Per month My plan is to get a job of a construction firm for about one year so that I can collect good amount of experience and they will hire me because I am passout from this college because this is one of the most reputed college after one year or two year, I will try for government exams or some private companies like Gautam farm, et cetera

The students who are appearing for the 7th semester end term examination are eligible for the campus placement drive , eligibility varies as per the companies eligibility criteria, main factors are CGPA score of the particular student. There are many companies who visited the campus for placement drive but the main companies who visited for campus placement drive are : NRL( Numoligorh Refinery Limited) ,ONGC( oil natural gas corporation) etc , the highest package offered was 24 lpa by NRL and the offer was got by 8 students and the average package of our college is 7lpa approx
