Likes

Campus is surrounded by trees which makes is beautiful.
The campus is surrounded by river which makes it beautiful like heaven
Labs faculties and lab equipment are very good

Dislikes

Campus is very big making difficult to travel
Class timing is hectic my class starts around 8 am and ends around 5 pm
It is at corner of Ranchi which totally cuts it from main ranchi city.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen this college and this course because of its good placement. Here for computer science branch the average placement is around 20 lakh per anum and highest is around 60 lakh per annum which is very good form many nits and good colleges.

Internships Opportunities

Here intership opportunity are less . although it's placement are very good. Here 50 percent of the cse students get internship in tech company. Core students get difficultly in getting intership.but it is gradually increasing

Placement Experience

I have chosen this college only because of its good placements. Here average package for computer science students is 20 lakh and if you see the average package of all the branches then it is around 12 lakh which is much greater than many nits .

Fees and Financial Aid

Honestly speakings, here fees are very high as compared to other colleges like iits , nits and gftis. For four years it is around 16 lakh excluding hostel and mess. Scholarship are given to students who have scored around 5 thousand rank in jee mains .

Campus Life

I am enjoying my college Life. The infrastructure here is like heaven. Campus is full of nature and surrounded by river makes is beautiful .here clubs facilities are good. I m in it club which is the club of coading.

Hostel Facilities

My hostel is Hostel number 1 which is the best hostel of Birla institute of technology. So I m enjoying my hostel like heaven. All the floor are cleaned everyday, bathrooms are heigen, regular supply of water is there with hot and cold water both.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

I have admitted in this college through jossa councling. I had given jee mains which is an entrance exam for good engineering colleges. In which I scored around 98 percentile. This college is situated in jharkhand due to which local people like st ,sc categery people are more .

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

GPAT score is what taken into account and in 12th 60% or more is mandatory. Also JEE scores are considered but again baby IITs level of score is required and therefore students mostly come through GPAT here....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
