Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is well organised and updated which tries to focus on being updated with the technology currently being in the market, along with the foundations for them. Working hours is something that could be made more flexible so a student can grasp what is being taught. Continous lectures and labs make it tiring sometimes. Plus point being subjects of less relevance to the field are very limited. Exam structure was a bit hectic in terms of frequency. Semester is divided into 3 phases of 1 month each. One internal of 36 marks after each phase. Followed by the practical exam and endsem exam at the semester end.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for placements int he 4th year when companies start to come for recruitment in the 7th semester. Some of the companies visited this year- hhaExchange, Pirimid, Crest Datasystems Offers made around 130 with an average package of about 5 lakhs. Highest was around 12 lpa. Profile offered SDE. Approximately 80% of the students get placed who sit in placement. Though accurate data needs to be checked. My plans as of now not clear whether to go for masters or placement after the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
Per semester tuition fees- Rs. 79,500 (Include exam fees) Hostel accomodation not provided so need to manage on own. Government aided scholarship mostly in demand is MYSY. Eligibility criteria being less than 6 lakh annual income. Though college doesn't provide any such scholarships as far of knowledge.
Campus Life
Only one cultural fest happens every year in the February month every year for 1 week. Rest some clubs exists which carry out their events frequently thorughout semester time. Sports infrastructure is very limited, limiting to only one ground where sports like cricket, kabaddi, football are played. Indoor courts or sports unavailable. All the books and journals need for every curriculum offered by the college are available in the library on issue basis. Classrooms are basic along with projector facilities as and when required. Due to limited extra curricular infrastructure co-curricular activities are limited but happen.
Admission
Any student 12th pass is eligible for the course. Must have appeared for boards and the state exam GUJECT. The intake is divided into two segments. One is the government aided seats(GIA) and the other is the self finance(SFI) seats. For both the intake is through the state exam GUJCET and the results of 12th boards. ACPC rank is calculated based on the above course who also then carries out the admission rounds for the colleges listed for their intake through ACPC. Total intake in my CE branch was about 150. GIA 60 and SFI 90 the seats being. 3 rounds of ACPC conducted based afteron which the seats if remain and filled by the college via their management quota rounds. I was admitted through the management quota round where merit rank is calculated by the college only based on GUJCET marks. Then counselling process happens for the same and seats offerred based on merit. I was in the GEN CAT so no reservation benefits.
