Overview to BIT Mesra, Ranchi.

Since IT sector was in bloom during the time I took admission, this influenced me the most in taking admission in CSE department of this college. The college has good faculties who help a lot whenever needed and cooperate in every circumstances. I don't think there is any area where improvement is required as it is improving day by day be it placement wise or curriculum wise. The frequency of exams should be reduced to reduce pressure on a student.

Many companies come to college for internships offers in odd semesters like 5th and 7th sem. Companies like microsoft, sprinklr, walmart, atlassian comes to offer internships with stipend ranging from 20K to even 2 lakhs a month.

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. Many companies such as microsoft, amazon, walmart, adobe etc visit the campus every year. Highest package is offered by Atlassian which was 58.5lpa while average for CSE dept. was about 20LPA. The percent student who get placed is really good here even for core branches.

The tuition fees being a private institute is quite high and not affordable for even many middle class students. The fees for four years course is about 16 lakh(complete course including hostels and mess charges). I dont avail any scholarships.

There are many fests which happen quite frequently organised by student clubs of the college like tech fest pantheon and annual fest bitotsav. Library facility is very good which has almost every book a student needs. The classrooms has projectors and good infrastructure. The sports facility is good here. Clubs also run well.

Room has a warddrobe, a table, a chair and a bed. Hostel is double sharing for first year and then we get single rooms. Mess meal is decent and well balanced for students from all around the country. registration for hostel happens during the admission itself.

The eligibility for the course I took admission in which is CSE branch was JEE mains cutoff. There is no such application form released seperately for admission. One can get admission via JOSAA councelling after JEE. The college conducts many exams and tests quite frequently like every sem has two quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem. Other than these, we have to submit assignments, have lab quizzes and lab exams as well. I guess admission process doesn't require any changes.
