Campus greenery: the institution has a very big lush green campus

Course Curriculum Overview

Follows the traditional course curriculum as followed in IITs. First year is the common year for students of every branch which gives some students a chance to upgrade their branches if they wants to and later from the second year every department gets self centred in their respective branches.

Internships Opportunities

The institution welcomes a huge number of companies for internship opportunities for the students. Companies like Google, Amazon, etc comes to the college to hire students for paid and unpaid internships.

Placement Experience

The institution invites a large number of companies for the on campus placements. The placement record was decent until now. Also since the campus has a good reputation some students also prefer to go to higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

A negative fact about the institution is that the institution fees is increasing at a rapid rate. Though the institution provides scholarship to the meritorious students based on their CGPA. Some students also avail government scholarships.

Campus Life

The institution campus is very good looking and a very big lush green campus. There are a hundreds of spices of plants present in the campus. The infrastructure is great with some faulty equipments present in some labs.

Hostel Facilities

The institution has made it compulsory for the students for the students to live inside the campus in their allotted hostels. The hostel fees is reasonable. The quality of mess food is okayish and not so good.

Admission

For being eligible for the course you need to appear in JEE mains and have a good score to get admission in BIT Mesra. For admission you need to go through the JoSSA counselling. Except for female reservation every reservation is available in the college. Since the college has a great reputation so to maintain the same the semester exams here are a bit on a tougher side. The only thing of concern is that the institution fees is increasing by a big margin every year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

BIT Mesra is mesmerizing!!

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
