Likes

The environment is good, the campus is spacious with loads of greenery.
The faculty is well educated and very supportive.

Dislikes

Lack of hostel accomodation leading to students suffering for living away from campus.
The semesters are not well divided, leading to very short semesters which make students tensed.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is very nice. It prepares students in every aspects, first two years are based on academical education, from the 3rd year onwards students have to do industrial training and internships giving them a real experience of working for companies. The institute also onboards various companies that provide students with internship opportunities and placement opportunities in their final year.

Internships Opportunities

The companies come for internship after the 4th sem summer break. Some of the companies hiring inteern from NIT Raipur include:- Arcesium , DE Shaw , Dboi , Visa , Texas , Cisco , etc These are the companies for technical domain for core there are companies like Jindal , ZS , Ambuja etc. THe stipend ranges from 20,000 to 1,00,000.

Placement Experience

The placements are good. Like for our Branch i.e., CSE the highest package is 55 lpa and average package is 16 lpa. The percentage of placements is about 80%. But there have been a decrease in the placement statistics owing to lay offs. But we hope for the improvement in upcoming years.

Fees and Financial Aid

The best thing about NIT is it's affordability to the poor, the fee of a student is based on their family income, the following structure is followed in NIT Raipur :- 1. income above 5 lpa fees- 1,64,000/- 2. income between 1 to 5 lpa fees - 54,000/- 3. income less than 1 lpa fees - 10,800/- These are the exact figures being followed in NIT Raipur.

Campus Life

The overall campus life is average when compared to other NITs. There are various clubs and committees in the college with diversfied view on life such as technology, sports, art, literature, social service, robotics, helpfulness, etc. The major 3 Committees are : Shaurya (sports Committee) , Technocracy (Technical Committee) , Sanskriti (Cultural Committee) ; each Committee conducts central india largest fest namely , SAMAR , AAVARTAN & ECLECTIKA respectively.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel accomodation is limited, like all students don't get the hostel accomodation facility , Hostel allocation is purely based on merit of a student, rest students need to search for their accomodation themselves which can be regarded as a negative impact for students. The Hostel is well maintained and food quality is also descent.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

A student is eligible for B.Tech in Computer Science only after having a decent All India Rank (AIR) i.e., under 15000 in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by NTA(National Testing Agency), all information regarding the examination is easily available on internet, we had 2 attempts. In my case I got admitted in Chemical Engineering Branch through my JEE rank of 64587. But after being the institute topper in first year, I got the opportunity to upgrade my Branch under the Branch Sliding scheme.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent, average package is somewhere around 10-11 LPA and lowest around 4 LPA where are the highest is around 65 LPA. around 70% of students get placed through campus placement. As this is an NIT, there are many intership opportunity and stipend varis from 10,000-35,000 per month. Companies like Adobe, AMD, Intel, Microsoft provide intership opportunities in this college and over 20% students get properly paid internships

Collage provides the best placements in the whole chattishgar, it is one of the few collages in the whole country which have a dedicated drone learning ecosystem. In the 2020-2024 session averge placement is around 11.6 LPA, with the higest pakage of 34LPA and lowest of 3.6LPA. Accourding to ratio of eligible candidate and placed candidate, 9-0 percent of then get placed. Not only the placements, collage also helps in finding internships as well.

NIT Raipur (The Fastest Developing NIT)

Some major points where NIT Raipur stands out over the other colleges. It's Placements, being an NIT it's decent enough for anyone choosing a college in a peaceful and affordable city like Raipur. It's Alumni connections, that make the college foundation really strong. The Student Culture is really good for personal growth, for someone who is still figuring out his/her career NIT RR could be a really good college for them.
