Likes

Infrastructure is quite decent comparing to other state universities or gftis one of top notch.
Location is quite good infront of trikuta hills surrounded by hills on three sides
Sports complex where sport ground is quite big and sports like cricket, football played frequently

Dislikes

Return of investment is on lower side.total cost will reach around 12lakhs but in comparison to that placement is not at that level
Strict rules for exiting campus students are not allowed to enter after 8pm.
Library which is unoperatable during Sundays which is not a good thing I mean students doesn't have access to reference books

Course Curriculum Overview

Courses are good at par with most of NITs but relevance is not upto that level. Professor are well qualified...few have done their M.Tech in IITs and NITs. There are some professor whose conduct is not good and they show arrogance

Placement is not at that level . Mostly people from computer science and electronics communication are placed in software companies and mech,civil guys have there companies on board that to be with avg package of around 5lpa Placement has declined in recent years due to recession but overall a good track record

Fees and Financial Aid

University provides scholarship if your SGPA is above than 8.5/10 and you are in top 10 position. Affordability of fees depend on person to person but academic fees is around 1,80,000/yr and hostel charges are 20000/yr mess charges are 23358/yr

Campus Life

Overall college life is quite decent to be honest as college is just few kilometres away from holy town of katra. There is always some quizes, meeting and social gatherings happens...awareness campaign happens. Clubs are there for coding dance music.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is really well. They provide you a bed ,chair-table,almirah one small book self. Every floors have three to four water coolers so there is no Hassel of water. Though wifi connectivity during exam is disrupted.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

Application process was quite smooth I have appeared for JEE mains as well as in CUET too. Though I have low percentile score in JEE mains that's why I got my admission through CUET. they have selected student via merur of three subjects marks and then email was sent by University to visit campus for document verification.

In case placement they tries give opportunities but didn't succeeded to much well. As 9.5 lpa is highest package by B.Tech CSE on campus but off-campus doing well as B.Tech CSE got 2 time 36 lpa as highest

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

NIT srinagar : A place signifying Majesty of nature and a ground for academic growth

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me

First apply for jee mains exam and get a rank under 50000 and also minimum 75% marks in 12th exam and you have only three attempt to qualify jee mains exam if you clear the cutoff so you also eligible for jee advance exam for the admission in IIT

Review about Shri mata vaishni devi university

Remarks:

The university is situated in the Trikuta foothills and is 80 km away from the main Jammu city so one has to bear that because everything is not available sometimes. Electricity is 24×7 and the weather is awesome.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
