Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course is decent only thing I didn't like that they gave me c++ course and DSA course together in 2nd sem itself cuz it was a little bit harder cuz they started DSA in c++ language although I picked it up later and was not that hard for others as well. They provide some world courses there is also ffcs after 1st sem u can decide whatever course of timing or professor u want that I like. Exams were mostly easy sometimes hard but that won't matter because there is relative grading here you will get good grades with less marks if class performed worse or less grade with high marks if class scored higher. There are 2 cats(continuous assessment test) and 1 fat( Final assessment test) and also one lab fat if the course has lab component.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I am not that sure about internship and placements cuz I am in 2nd year but I will cite my senior from quora's article for convenience "The placement season at VIT started in July 2021, as of Dec 2021, are the following statistics !!!!! At the end of the post I have my personal suggestions ! VIT placements this year(2022) are tooo good. Classifications in placements at VIT: Super Dream (>10LPA) Dream (5 to 10 LPA) Regular (<5 LPA) So, this year all placements are amazing, The highest package was given by Dyte i.e., 75 LPA and apart from this most companies in super dream hired 100s of people, Apart from this mass recruitment also happened really well this year, Cognizant hired 2500 students, Wipro hired, 1100 people and, TCS hired around 1000 people. 739 companies Visited this year and still counting !! Most students got placed in super dream companies and even mechanical students got salaries as high as 35 LPA in core !!" Source:Jishnu saurav from quora

Placement Experience

4

I think u become eligible from 3rd year for placements. If ur cgpa is above 8.5 u get pretty decent placement( yea it matters here) if ur cgpa 9 pointer u r set (although skills also matter cgpa just make u to apply for a specific company placement round). Many big companies visited like Microsoft Amazon and DE shaw etc. in 2023, total 904 companies visited. Placements is almost 90%. I would apply for placements after degree probably in a corporate job.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are 5 categories according to ur rank u will get less tuition fee if high rank in viteee and more fees if u get less rank 1st category is lowest fee and 5th category highest fee. Hostel and mess fee is constant for all (it differs according to type of room like ac or non AC , no of beds in room and mess as well veg non veg or special) for 1st category student total fee is almost 4 lakhs ( a little bit less and talking about tuition + hostel+ mess +laundry). They provide scolarships if your rank is 3 digits 50% scholarship and if you are a state topper 100% scholarship. So if you get 1st or 2nd category it's affordable and good if above 3rd category not so much.

Campus Life

4.5

I think campus life decent for me atleast. They are a little bit strict here though and also pda gaurds are there. There are 2 fests held here reviera(Cultural) and gravitas(tech). Library is very big and you'll find many academic and non academic books there you can study in library also. There are many playgrounds and sometimes tournaments are held. Music is a huge thing here. Many clubs ( trust me many) and very good for making friends and ????

Hostel Facilities

4

There are ac and non AC rooms 1 bed 2 bed 3 bed 4 bed and 6 bed. Apartment type is also there. In rooms there is cupboard mirror bed fan and ac( if ac room) and a gate. Mess food depends upon the caterer it goes from decent to bad. Hostel registration is done on the basis of cgpa if u have bad cgpa u won't even get AC rooms unless u have a friend with high cgpa he can take u with him. Renting pg is not that easy i think u need to live with parents and gaurdian for pg.

Admission

For admission viteee was conducted(entrance exam) you can register for that in vit website if registrations are open.registration fee was about 1350. I would say question level was easier than jee mains but time was also less relatively. I think they should decrease registration fee a little bit because it's probably most expensive entrance exam of India for engineering colleges. I think cutoff was around 7000 minimum for general category student

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
