Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

As I am a Mathematics and computing student, so my branch mainly focuses on higher mathematics and AI/ML(Artificial intelligence/Machine learning). The 1st year curriculum is same for all branches. From the second year or 3rd semester, you start your core branches subjects. The subjects mainly focuses on Mathematics and Computing side. The course is good. But as AI is getting upgraded day by day, the course should also get revised.

Internships Opportunities

3

For interships, you need to work quite are and enhance your skills as internship is something the you have to earn on your own. If are skillful enough , you can even grab an internship in your first year. Many companies provides you an internship and even offer a PPO(Pre Placement Offer) if you are skilled enough and impress them.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college placements are good. From the 6th semester you are eligible for college placements. A lot of big companies like IBM, Infosys, google, Microsoft etc come to the campus for placements. The highest packages offered to students have also crossed 1cr Lpa . The percentage of students getting placed is also above 80%. But during the recession. The placements were affected.

Fees and Financial Aid

The per semester fee is 83000 and the hostel fees is 25000 if you are from the general category. For general EWS( income less the 5 lacks) the fees is around 50000 and for under 1 lack the fees is around 20000. For sc/st the fees is very less. The hostel fee for everyone is same i.e. 25000. There are also some scholarships that one can apply for.

Campus Life

4.5

My overall experience of the campus is quite good. As the college is situated in Himachal Pradesh, so the campus is not less than heaven. The campus is very beautiful. The college organises a cultural fest called Hillfair, and a technical fest call Nimbus which allows students to showcase their talents and interests. There is also a quite big library where you can access a lot of books. There are also many cubs and societies. Like many cultural and technical clubs. I'm also a part of my department's departmental club. You can learn a lot from these other activities. There are a lot of opportunities to explore

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels are allotted according to the years(The hostel fees is around 25000). Like for 1st year students Kailash Boys Hostel is alloted. The hostel room are little old, for the fist year students, the oldest hostel is alloted. There also new hostels that are allotted in the coming years. The mess food is good and above average sometimes. There are many canteens and cafe in the campus where you can eat of your choice. For rented rooms, you need to go outside the campus

Admission

You have to clear an entrance exam called JEE Mains, which make you eligible to enter into an NIT or many other government colleges. The syllabus is based on 11th and 12th grade Non- Medical. After you clear the cuttof of the college, you are eligible to take admission. As it is a government college, reservation is there.

Students become eligible from 7th semester for campus placement but you can apply off-campus if you want. A lot of times off-campus placements are of better amount than on campus placements. Almost out of 400 students present in a year, 100 get very good on campus placements.(Almost above 10 lakhs) 100 get between 5-10 lakhs And rest ho for higher degrees although they get a placement of 4-5 lakhs
