Course Curriculum Overview

3

I liked Physics and wanted to go to an NIT, hence I opted for this. I don't think it was a nice idea. The curriculum doesn't prepare anyone for anything real. For, Further academic pursuits it's nice. There can be a lot of improvements, starting with removing the 75% attendance criteria. We have a 4-5 month long semester, in which there are mid-sems after 1.5 months of classes, quizzes and tests randomly in the middle and end seems exams.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Interships in my course are not provided by the college and we have to search for them outside on our own, however, the profs are very supportive. The stipend depends upon the intership. People usually go for research interns

Placement Experience

1

In my course, students sit for placements in their 4th and 5th year. Companies like Byjus, Vedantu, PW etc. often hire physics teachers. Average package of such companies are 6.5 to 7LPA A meagre 10% get placed from Physics. My plans are to pursue an MBA after my degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee was lesser and got increased over the past few years. 567000 is the total fee for 5 years(approx) There are a lot of scholarships available, details of which can be found on our college's website There are a few opportunities for campus employment too.

Campus Life

4

Technical fest is called mindbend, it's a fun event for all the techies. Cultural event is called sparsh, which could be better everytime it's conducted. There are a lot of books in the library, it has an enormous collection. There are projectors, fans, lights etc in the classroom. Sports are very nice here in SVNIT. Myself being a proud member of the sports committee, I can say that the community is awesome. Although the college doesn't provide many funds, we make the most out of it. There are a lot of clubs run by the students, for the students. The music, dancing, art etc. these clubs are basic, we also have student chapters which are a good call for socialising

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are fine. In my room, there are 2 people, me and my roommate. We have been provided with beds, a fan, 2 tables, 2 chairs, a balcony and lights. Food is very bad, since it's Gujarat. No non-veg, uhh. The hostel fee is compulsory for all irrespective of their reservation. It's a minimal 22k for the semester.

Admission

For admission into SVNIT, one has to give the JEE maina examination and qualify with a decent rank. One has to be a high school passout. The form for JEE can be found on the josaa portal, fees was nominal, dates can also be found online. After qualifying, one has to go through a councelling process under josaa or csab wherein they are given multiple courses from all NITs to choose from. The exam is very difficult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosee this couse due to the high value of this course . As in our next future microbiology is the world next innovative work . After covid -19 the worls focuses on the microbial world, The curriculum preapres us for the mini microbial microorangmins and how to be aware of it, how its wide spread etc like viruses. Areas like rural and villages should have govermen colleges which provieds better education + high relevent courses and oppurtinities. The frequency and timimg of exams are muvh releifable as first internal theory exams are taken then internal practical exams are taken according after one month same fpr external exams . Normally we do not face timing difficulties in exams.

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. But in our field only few companies are visited and that are also with low package so I recommend not to choose microbiology if you are not interested in doing phd.
