Course Curriculum Overview
The course carricullum is like most of the NITs and IITs, and also recently unpdated(in 2023). The exams are not that difficult to pass given that the students have proper attenance; the attendance although is not mandatory for students, as many studnets do not bother to attend college. The teachers are very cooperative, and few are very knowledgable about the industry, although you have to approach them of your own, and they can even help you getting placed.
Internships Opportunities
Their are not many internship opportunities available, but here are few: CS/IT: Comapnies like Flipkart, Infosys come. Java, C and C++ with few regular development projects can get you an Internship. Printing/Packaging/Food Tech: Companies like Amul comes, I have no idea of the skills. ECE : Do embedded projects, learn C/C++, and clarify basic electronic concepts, you might land a job offcampus; if not oncampus.
Placement Experience
You become eligible for placements from the 7th sem itself. The companies which some here are mostly unknown companies, except Flipkart, Airtel, Jindal and Reliance. The placement scenario is as follows: CS/IT : Very good placements, avg 4+, highest(from 2023) was 12LPA on campus. Printing/PKG/Food Tech : 100% Placement, in 2024, 10 students got placed with a package of 9.5 LPA. Core branches(Except ECE) : Decent placement, you have to be top employable in your batch to be placed. ECE : Not allowed to sit in software companies, no electronic company comes, worst placement, No need to talk about the package or percentages. You can just be placed in a sales role.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure, as reflected in the official website, is almost 31k per semester, which varies in the odd and even semester. The hostel fees is 10800 per year as of now. Overall, the university is one of the cheapest universities in India, and expenditure will not be an issue here. Scholarships of 14000 per year is provided for someone who tops both the semesters that year. I don't exactly know the fee structure for reserved categories, but its free for SC and female students.
Campus Life
The infrastructire is awesome, the campus is build over 375 acres of land area, which can contain more than 4 YMCA Faridabad! It is a beautiful university; gardens, lakes, buildings, so it will give a great filed. Facilities like library, hostels, reading halls, computer centres, labs are A1, more than enough for students. A stadium is provided for sports and recreational activities, which is a big plus point of the university. Although, the cultural events, fests and excursions are either absent or very bad here.
Hostel Facilities
Here the PGs are not that expensive, you can stay in a PG for 1500 rupess, or you can opt for dharamshalas, their are many present here. Food is quite affordable, so I don't think their will be any accomodation problems. Hostels are very affordable, the new ones are like heaven, but old ones might not feel that good. Specially mentioning the Hostel food, it is really bad, but depending on the contractor, they might make good food sometimes, but that happens rarely though. Wifi is fairly good here, only for basic needs.
Admission
I had to take JEE(Mains) examination to get into this college. You have to apply through HSTES official counselling website, the fees is Rs. 500 and the application starting and ending dates vary every year. So it is suggested to keep checking the applicaion dates. Also the admission is taken through university level counselling on their offical website; which takes place after the HSTES counselling. The final round is physical counselling if anyone is available or interested.
