Likes

Hostel facility is good and mess is also good.
Environment is good. We have a good ambience.
College is not that bad. I can manage with my studies

Dislikes

Behaviour of teachers is sometimes unusual.
There is no one to support us and encourage.
To reach the hostel is difficult. It is at the hill top.

Course Curriculum Overview

According to me the curriculum is outdated . It will not help you get a job. We have to study extra courses to get into the job. The exam difficulty level is moderate. We have 8 semesters. 2 internal exams and 1 main exam for each semester.

Internships Opportunities

There is no internships available at college . We should find it ourselves. ICFOSS , and many other companies are offering internships and stipend. There are many projects available to do internships on.

Placement Experience

Placements are very poor this year. No one actually got placements in a good company. From 7th semester we got eligible for placements some companies including UST global, Q spiders etc visited our campus. Only few are getting placed . I think only 10% are getting placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships available for students. There is hike in examination fee every year. Our fee is 35k for regular students. 60k for management students and 75k for NRI students. Some Scholarships include Tuition fee wavier, Pragati etc

Campus Life

We have a tech fest named Eka occuring either every year or in 2 years. We can take books and return it before 2 weeks . Some references are not provided , we can study books at the library. At a time we can take upto 3 books. Sports is good. Performance of clubs and social groups are poor.

Hostel Facilities

We have a very good hostel facility. We have chairs and tables for everyone in the room. In a room we have 3 members. Rent is around 4500. We have a menu and it is very good. Food quality is really good.

Hostel Fee: INR 6000 per year

Admission

I wrote KEAM examination for admission to Kerala engineering colleges. I got a rank around 20k and got an admission in one of the colleges under CAPE. The students who studied science Stream are eligible to write the exam. The syllabus of the exam include Maths, Physics and chemistry. There is reservation for OBC,SC,ST and others. The exam will be conducted once in every year. The application form is available in the Keam website.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are good, can be better. This year the average is 15L and median is 12L and highest is 50L for ece, the percentage of placed students in ece is also greater than 80%.In the 3rd year students are taken for interships and those may convert to placements and for 4th year students placements will start from the start of their 4th year itself.For ece meesho, dell, texax instuments and many other companies came, meesho paid the highest salary in ece.My plan is to secure a good job in core company.

Nit Calicut - Good Side and Worse Side

Placement Experience:

we get placements mostly in the post 6th sem or in 7th sem. Some major companies like texas instruments offer good packages here. others include meesho, goldmans sachs, dell, bpl. Highest package is around 50lakh for ece students and around 70 lakh for cse. more than 80 percent get placed from cse and ece but is only around 20 percent in branches like production engineering, engineering physics. less core companies than it ones

MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

Placements are the main highlight of our college.Highest package offered this year was 52 lpa by D.E shaw &Co . Average package was around 8lpa. Almost all students from CSE and ECE were placed . Companies: Redbus, Deloitte,TCS,UST Global etcs. Students from sem 6-7 are eligible for placements.

Life in PEC

I get this college as a merit seat. I had written the KEAM entrance exam and I got this college according to the rank I got in that entrance exam. We have to give some options of college for the allotment criteria. I choose Government Colleges first but I didn't get as my rank is less when compared to the ranks taken by the government college. Next I preferred government aided colleges and I placed my college as the first option as it is under cape , and I could be a day scholar as this is of less distance from my home.
