Remarks

All is good except the training and placement department.

Entrance Preview

I opted for this college because I heard of its name beforehand too and also the branch for which I was looking for was available here. My family was also comfortable with the fee structure. There was no problem of conveyance to the college from my residence. I researched the college and found placement records pretty well which was one of the major reasons for opting for this college. In addition to this, I found the infrastructure of this college very appealing as after twelfth every student dreams of going to a fancy college with lavish buildings and properly equipped labs and I was no exception from this mindset.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum of my college was above than average. There were hardly any so called mass bunks in my academic session. Teachers taught strictly according to the plan provided by the university and were worried of results and hence have always put their best.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, once in the academic session they provide internship but it is unpaid. It was more of a classroom like experience and we were taught on the board for whole internship period. Very less there came a chance that we were provided with the equipments.

Placement Experience

2

Being honest, when we talk about placements and job opportunities, my college wont shine much. Companies which came(just 2 or 3) for recruitment would say they would be recruiting in mass but did just opposite of what was promised. The director was least interested to improve the situation or do something for the betterment of children

College Events

3.5

Various events were celebrated one of which was annual fest of our college which is celebrated ever year n the month of February or March. It includes various cultural programs like singing, dancing and organizing games etc. Then there was technical fest also in which students of respective streams showcase their talent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure can be categorized as feasible or expensive as the same fee structure may be feasible and expensive for two different people at the same time. Still if asked I would say fees was slightly above than average. Especially for the first year, it is very high as university fees are also included which is 40000. For the rest of the academic session, university fees were not asked.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, there was no loan or scholarship provided by college. Relaxation in the due date was given only to those who could prove their financial instability by providing the essential documents for the same.

Campus Life

3.5

Overall campus life was good. Gender ratio was low as the number of girls were less in comparison to boys. Although not very less but there was a difference. In NIEC the IEEE society was always in action. They were always having workshops for one thing or another and debate competitions, self defense classes for girls were also organized by the same.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are no hostel facilities provided by the college. Children who are not from Delhi resides in pg in possible nearby locations. And therefore I have eaten from college canteen only which I felt was hygienic and food provided was also good to taste.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were very helpful, motivating, supporting and encouraging. They provided us with all the guidance that we needed at different stages of college life.

Exam Structure

There were three sessional tests which occurred in an interval of every two months. They were of 30 marks per subject and their marks were counted in internal marks. Then we have practical examinations both internal and eternal. External practicals used to take place before the session ending exams. It was necessary to pass both internal as well as external practicals failing which a backlog would be added to the particular subject.

Admission

At first I registered on the official website of Indraprastha university from where i got my registration number and password. In a week or so admit cards were released for Idraprastha university common entrance test (IPUCET). This exam was online and included negative marking as well. Then ranks were declared on the official website of ipu which we got to know through the registration number generated earlier. And finally Northern India Engineering College and stream as well were allotted to me on the official website of ipu. From there we got to know about the date for document verification and fee submission etc.

Faculty

4

Faculty of my college was very well qualified in their respective fields and mode of communication was also very effective for the students to comprehend. They were hardly on leaves and were always punctual for classes. They always tried to create a learning environment for the students and made themselves available for clearing the doubts of those who seek.

We have to understand and go for training as per the direction of our enhanced cell guidance. Top level companies are the ones that gets along and gives nearly 90% of the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Currently what a job require and what we are being taught in the college, totally different. We have to study separately for preparing job because in our course curriculum, importance skills aren't taught and the frequency of exam throughout the year is too much. We don't get enough time for preparing jobs. We need less frequency of exams throughout the year so that we can prepare for a job.
