Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is quite well oriented. Classes are held regularly. Besides theory classes clinics also happens regularly. Exams are also being held regularly to assess the progress. 3-4 exams are held in each year including the professional examination.

Internships Opportunities

Internship is compulsory for all students who pass their final year exams Rotatory internship happens for 1 year and all students must complete it to get their MBBS degree. After internship you can either apply for non academic jrship or enter residency programme after qualifying the neet pg programme

Fees and Financial Aid

From our admission year the fee increased to 16600. Earlier it was around 2000. There has been no fee hike after this. There is no specific scholarship given from the college. However you can avail the category wise scholarship from government.

Campus Life

The annual fest of our college is Euphoria. It happens in September each year and is organised by the 3rd year MBBS students.It goes for 1 week and incudes cultural and literary programs,sports etc. Books are available in central library which is located within the campus building. All the classes are taken in projector. There is an indoor stadium with facilities for sports

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is compulsory for all students. You get hostel facility during the admission process only. Initially you are provided double rooms but by 2nd year all are given single rooms. The rooms are pretty good and newly made. The mess food is average like other colleges.

Hostel Fee: INR 1500 per year

Admission

You must get qualifying marks in NEET. The application form and all other details like fees etc. are made available in the NEIGRIHMS official site before admission process starts. I got through North-east quota since I am from Tripura. Besides there are 8 seats filled by aia. The admission process is smooth. However the problem in going through north east quota is you must take the seat as soon as you get it...no scope for upgrading. So it can been looked upon.Otherwise it's pretty good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculums include theory and clinics. Theory is done in the morning and clinics in the noon and practical in the afternoon. This curriculum is quite good to prepare us to become a good doctor, both in studies and in clinical practice. As the world is evolving in terms of technology, I believe there must be a more innovative way of teaching making use of all the technologies available for teaching such as PowerPoint, 3d models (real and virtual), etc. There must also be proper ventilation, cooling system, etc to help the students cope up with the weather of the college. There are 4 exams in a year which to me are too much. Besides the NEET PG exam will be MCQs so what is the point of doing objective questions and answers.

NEIGRIHMS-a heaven MBBS college in NORTH EAST

Course Curriculum Overview:

Neigrihms is a central college, its in line just after AIIMS and JIPMER alike colleges, its one the biggest and most advanced health research institute with great facilities for students and faculties to interact.Another thing that made me chose this college was the student teacher ratio. Each batch has 50 number of students.This ensures better learning and teachers could give proper attention to each and every student . Regular semester exams r undertaken which help us to go through our syllabus properly. And teachers here r very student friendly and approachable. And in this college u get more clinical exposure than any other college in north east!!

I chose medicine because I love helping others. There is enough faculty for 50 students, the number of seats is likely to increase soon in the coming years. Admission:

Admissions for MBBS course is via NEET UG examination. Students also must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in their higher secondary education. In general the cut off is set at 96.67% in NEET. After counseling i got admission in this college.

Remarks:

Fee structure,basic infrastructure, college administration all are best as compared to any medical college. Teaching and labs are good. There is no negative remark about this college, it's excellent in all the criteria for an ideal college.

Eligibility of the course was quite fair. It was based on NEET-UG result and quota. Application form, fees and dates were all available on the college website which could be easily looked upon. As mentioned there was a reservation benefit in terms of quota seats (for example, Northeast quota, all india quota, mizoram quota, nagaland quota, etc.) There are 4 exams total (2 internal exam, 1 pre-university, 1 professional/university exam). The exams are quite fair, and challenging. But unlike other colleges, the gap between two papers is too less. There is no gap between two papers of the same subject, and there is only one day gap between two subjects. The gaps should have been increased for better performance in the exam. To improve the admission process, there must be guides who will help the new students to do the admission process with ease and to avoid silly mistakes that occurs when students do alone by themselves....Read More
