Remarks

In conclusion I've only word to say about BHU.... It's supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

Entrance Preview

After my 12th I dropped a year for the preparation of CLAT, besides CLAT I also filled various others revered forms BLAT(BHU Law Admission Test) was one of the preeminent among them. I didn't get very decent rank in CLAT so, I wasn't getting any good NLU but I got selected in BHU. BHU has a gargantuan reputation, terrific alumni base, preeminent faculty of the India, captivating campus and also perspicacious crowd, these are the few things which bewitched me towards BHU.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

BHU is regulated through parliamentary act, it's a central university (even BHU has its own act). Curriculum of BHU is decided by the central level committee of various proficient scholars, so assuredly it has a tremendous curriculum. Besides almost every law subjects(in 4th year and 5th year you have to choose among various subjects) it includes drafting, mooting etc in its curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

College provides us recommendation letter for internship, through which we apply for internship. I've passed my 2nd semester I've done my internships at NALSA, NCDRC and NCPCR respectively for no stipend. Some of my classmates have done their internship for stipend of 5-7k per month. Besides that there are various seniors who have done their internships at top law firms like ABZ, Luthra and trilegal etc.

Placement Experience

4

Since no batch has been passed out yet so there is no record for placements yet. But as our 1st batch would be pass this year, placement cell is active at college and invitations has been sent to various law firms and companies from the college to come for placement. And as I mentioned above there are various who has their internships at top tier law firms, so assuredly there'd be placement. Above mentioned facts were all about the corporate, now let me tell you about judiciary. In 3 year LL.B. Course there were 98 selections in PCSJ last year may be that's the reason BHU is known as judge's factory.

College Events

4

Life of Law School is vivid. Various events happen time to time in our college. Every year from the Orientation to the convocation myriad of colourful events happen which make law School even more vivid. Events like orientation (only Freshers attends), Freshers (officially and unofficially both), intra faculty moots, intra faculty quizzes, intra faculty debates, Srijan(Intra Faculty cultural event) and a lot of such intrafaculty events and a Spandan (BHU's inter faculty cultural event). Besides that various national level seminars, workshops, debates, moot competitions etc happen time to time every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is quite feasible and affordable. As B.A.LL.B. is self finance course so it's fee is quite higher than other courses of BHU but still it's far less expensive than NLUs or other colleges One has to pay amount of 60000 per annum. There is no further fee taken by college.

Fees and Financial Aid

Various state governments provides scholarship to financial backward students who study at BHU. Besides that one can easily avail the loan from any bank for BHU fee.

Campus Life

4

Campus life- Campus life is pretty awesome at BHU. BHU is spread over more than 1300 acres. It's a city itself. It has various amphitheatres, swimming pools, shopping centres and its own hospital. In terms of library Law School has a sumptuous library where you can find almost every sort of law books and myriad of Indian and foreign law general, besides that there is a central library which is the largest library of Asia, here you get ten thousands of book of each genre. Being a BHU student you can get diploma in various fields such as any language, music etc. BHU is perfect paradigm of an impeccable campus. Gender Ratio- 50-50/40-60/60-40(boys-girls) vary yearly. Diversity- In my class there are 60 students they are from various states like UP, Rajasthan, Bihar, MP, Jharkhand, WB, Chhatisgarh, UK and 1 foreign national from Nepal and 1 NRI from Mauritius. One can guess the diversity now. Extracurricular (Debates/Moots/Sports)- Every year various national and state and sometimes international events happen at Law School. Seminars and Workshops happen almost every month. There is a debate society in law school which organises various debates and other vernacular events time to time. Every year various intra faculty and a national moot happen at law school.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel allots as per the merit list. The Hostel is quite decent and very affordable. 2 people have to live in a room, rooms contain 2 study tables, 2 chairs and 2 lockers with ample space. One has to pay 3000 rupee per annum for hostel. Yes, the fee is amazingly less. Mess is ok, mess charges vary yearly.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni base of law school is also terrific , many supreme Court judges are alumni of Law School BHU. Present chairman of law commission of India Mr. B. S. Chauhan is also the alumnus of Law School BHU , besides this many splendid supreme Court lawyers and proficient scholars are also the alumni of Law School BHU. I've already mentioned above enough about the seniors.

Exam Structure

One has to have at least 70% attendance to give the examinations. Each semester one has to give exams of 6 different papers Each paper contains 100 marks out which 70 is for theory and 30 for project work and presentation. Results come in CGPA. One has to have at least 4 CGPA in each subject to pass the examination otherwise he would have to give the back. If one's overall CGPA becomes less than 4 then he has to give year back.

Admission

I gave the entrance exam of BHU for B.A.LL.B., i.e. BLAT( BHU Law Admission Test). After the declaration of result they(BHU) released cut offs (cut offs means till what rank or marks people get call letter for counseling.). I received call letter, I went for counseling and fortunately I got selected. That's the general procedure for admission.

Faculty

5

BHU has the best Faculty for law of India. There 25 professors among the faculty members out which 18 are ranked professors (One must be aware of the fact that even top NLUs have barely 2-3 professors.). Some of the professor has their degree from Harvard and Yale. And overall there are more than 40 teaching staff in the faculty and there are only 60 students in a batch so one can easily expect that how good the ratio of a teacher per student is.
