Likes

teachers are helpful, they will try to help at least
food is decent, you'll get three times every day
hostel facility is good, you'll find attached bathrooms in hostel rooms

Dislikes

placement is very poor, the placement cell is not working properly
college infrastructure is not good for a course like engineering
no proper labs and equipments. the maintenance is very poor

curriculum was good, mainly includes all the important aspects of engineering. it consists more than 24 subjects as well as you have an option of choosing secondary course as a hons. that helps in learning more than one stream and can also helps in switching work field.

very few company's are there for in house placement but you'll find option from outside campuses that will be provided by the college only. campus placement is in very bad condition so you have to look for alternatives.

fees is about 120000 to 150000/yr depends on the student marks plus there are multiple govt scholarship schemes. it includes hostel fees also, hostel is good, food is decent. mostly odiya food you have to gell in it

Campus Life

campus life was good, you'll find so many people from outside state. there are less cocurriculam activities happening. there are very less clubs to get involved in. i have created my own club to help students with the interview and all.

Admission

i had given jee-mains and got admission through that, the cutoff was upto rank 400000, you have to wait for the BPUT entrance option for JEE-MAINS then we have to apply for selection process. there are more than 3 rounds of admissions depends on the availability of seats

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Most of people go for PHDs and research after this course so the number of placements is a little less. Also, this unique Integrated Mtech course is new and the first batch of this 5 year course soon will be passed out. They are getting placement offers of 8-8.5 LPA per annum.

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like TCS, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, AMAZON, SAMSUNG visited and about 7 to 8 lakh rupees package they are giving. Placement Experience:

From 7th sem the students became eligible for campus selection. Companies like Infosys, EVEREADY, ACC , ultratech and many more offering annual packages starting from 2lakhs to 8lakhs. Highest 8lakhs annual packages and average was like 3.5lakh to 4.5 lakh. Approximately 70 to 80 percentage of students are getting placements every year. After getting the degree i want to do a job in electrical companies.

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

This College is located 25 Km away from Bhubaneshwar, in the hills. As comapred to most of the colleges which are in the noisy places or the important services are not nearby .
