Likes

Placement opportunities are very nice in this college.
The clubs are based on various interests.
The campus life is very vibarant and there are no restrictions based on timings

Dislikes

The food quality is not that good in the college.
The timings of girls hostel is very strict .
The timing of class is constant in very season .

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is strictly based on the curriculum followed in NITs and IITs. The teaching method is also very good and the class size is of 60 students only. So you dont have to worry about the rush of students in the class. There are 4 exams in a semester: 2 quizzes, mid semester examination and semester examination .

Placement Experience

From the 7th semester the students get eligible for placement opportunities. The placement is quite good with 15lpa/year as the average package. There are also off campus opportunities. About 80 percent of the students get placed through ghe on campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee is slightly on the higher side but you can also take educational loans from the banks available in the campus. The campus life is very vibrant and the placement opportunities are excellent with an average package of 15lpa/year and the highest package of 50lpa/year. The top branches like computer science and aiml have an average package of 22lpa/year which is very good considering a tier 2 engineering college.

Campus Life

As i said earlier the campus life is very vibrant. We have many clubs and societies based on the interests of the students. The recruitment of clubs is simple you have to appear for the recruitment exam or interview or performance and based on that you have your club recruitment. There are many annual fests like bitotsav, pantheon,etc.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is also good . We get a two seater room in the first and second year and a one seater room in 3rd and 4th year. The food quality in the mess is average , we get 4 time meals in the mess.

Admission

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra takes admission through JEE Mains examination which is conducted by NTA twice a year. The difficulty level of JEE Mains is moderate and the syllabus is of 11th and 12th standard Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The admission process was very smooth through JOSSA counseling .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
