Course Curriculum Overview

I chose geography for my graduation because of it was a rare course and only provided by three govt college in Calicut University. It is a good course and it's sub disciplines are very nice to connect with others. Frequency of exams are based on the time duration of finishing the semesters. Usually it's two sem exams in a year and with some other reasons it may get delayed. In course of three years all 6 semesters and it's exams along with project and practical will be finished. Field trip is the main attraction of the course.

Class Size: 45Course Fees: INR 2000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fees are not too high and it is affordable. For reserved categories there will be reduction for some and no fees for some categories. For general category the total amount will be around 1 lakh for three years,which include hostel fees and mess fees.

College union conducts various programs in a year which starts from freshers party to send off party in between many more like annual day, college day,union day and association day. College has a huge library which is accessible for every students and each and every department has its own libraries also. College is famous for its sports participation at University levels especially at wrestling. College has many students groups like ncc,nss,green club, literature club etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel has generally a friendly atmosphere. Due to its age neatness is a bit average. Meal quality is also an average level. You'll be provided chicken and egg twice in a week with dinner. For lunch you'll have rice and sambar for every day with rasam and upperi. Breakfast consists idly,dosa,upma,putt with chuttney and curry. Hostel fees may vary but it will always fall around 2000 per month.

Hostel Fee: INR 20000 per year

Admission

After doing plus two in arts stream with geography from Kerala board of education i applied for bsc geography at govt college chittur. I had 97% marks in final exam and got admission from the first allotment itself. For getting admission there shall be an index mark which gonna vary every year with the number of application and no.of seats. Admission process usually starts after the plus two results in May.

Why you should/shouldn't join LISSAH

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I chose this course to help others.social service was the main motive. I'm now persuing post graduation because i got best classes from best teachers. Real world applications are that i can be a good psychologist. The exams are gaped 6 months. Difficulty depends on the teachers who prepare the exam papers. But mainly it is syllabus based.
