My first year experience in IIIT Ranchi

The computer science and engineering course is very good in my college. It started from the very basic level to advanced. Theory classes have a good use in the lab. Regular assignments in coding are done in labs. Besides contests are organised on platforms like codeforces and codechef. Faculty and seniors are always there to help.

The placement cell of the college and seniors guides a lot to get internships. We are also allowed as interns in many iits such as Gandhinagar, bhubaneswar etc. Students are also selected to work along with professors on many projects.

Last season the placements were quite surprising but this year it is a bit low. Till now the highest package is around 50 lpa. Many students are placed between 12 to 20 lpa. The placement cell of the college is trying to get more students placed and inviting more companies to come to our college.

The overall fee including hostel and mess fee is around 161000 per semester. It is quite a lot of money. No financial assistance is from college. There is availability of loan upto 15 lakh for students admitted as PNB and SBI branch are nearby.IIIT Students can easily get loan. If you get NSP scholarship, it can add assistance upto 2 lakh per year

The college doesn't have its own campus. Presently it is operated from jut and khelgaon campus. College have its library with variation of books in technology fields.college have a lot of clubs for fields like dance, drama ,singing, poetry, fashion, photography, anime etc. Football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, badminton etc games are played in the college. We also participate in inter iiit sports meet.

Hostel facility is the best part of being in iiit Ranchi. A 3 bhk flat is allotted to 8 students .2 in each of three rooms and 2 in hall. It has 3 bathrooms, a kitchen. The flat is equipped with geyser, ac and wifi.

To get into this college you have to appear in jee mains. It is conducted by NTA. Then you have to participate in seat allocation which is conducted by JOSSA. It has 6 rounds and 2 special rounds. The seat allotment is time-consuming. It takes more than a month to complete. You have to be patient. If you belong to a reserved class it can benefit you to get into a better college or get a course of your choice in a college more than general students.
