Remarks

Only problem is that it is a Government college and you will observe some level of corruption, the college doesn't have a football ground whose file is still pending and god knows when it will be passed.

Entrance Preview

The college demands for the IIT JEE rank and select the students on the basis of merit.I procured a rank of 1,29,130 and was selected after the 1st counseling. The students are asked to fill the admission form through the college's website. Then a merit list is released consisting of 180 students which have been allotted the chance of admission. The college also releases a reserved list of students incase the students from the previous seats do not complete the admission process. The students are asked to pay the amount for reserving their seat. The leftover seat are then proceeded for the next counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum include the engineering and management subjects hence the students a degree of food techno manger which is unique in its own.The course is precisely prepared with consulting to the needs of the industries and the food ministers. The students also.have to go for a 4 month internship in the 7th semester and conduct a research work in the 8th semester. This helps.him develop his professional skills and apply his academic knowledge into the real world.

Internships Opportunities

Yes college do provide internships which would be part of tge 7th semester of the course with a stipend ranging around 5000-10000/-. The CRD takes care of inviting companies and conducting various interviews and selection process.

Placement Experience

4

The food sector is a vats sector with growing opportunities. The placements are quite good, while college claim it as 100% which is correct when we leave out the students who due to some disciplinary reasons were not included in the placement sessions. Companies like Nestle, AMUL, del Monte, Mondelez comes for the placements. The average package is around 4-5 lakhs with highest packaging reaching upto 10-14 lakhs. The placements in NIFTEM is maintained by a separate department CRD (Corporate Resource Devlopment) which invites the compaines for placements and conducts interviews and other formalities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for us is Rs. 1,11,700/- per semester which is just a little bit more than the NITs and IITs. Every year their is an increment of 2000 - 5000/- in the above amount. Since it's completely residential college , so you have to stay in the hostels only. The semester fee includes hostel charges, the students have to pay the mess fees and their personal expenses additionally. The mess fee is Rs. 2800/- per month.which is quite affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers merit scholarship to students recurring the top 3 rank year wise. There is also a scholarship as merit cum means for the students with poor background and secuirn good grades. There is a bank in the college premises where you can avail education loan.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is only 19 km from the nearest metro station ie jahangir puri. It takes around 40 min on an average to reach there owing to the traffic on the NH 1 highway. Hence the college is 1 :15 min away from chandni chowk , the central part of Delhi. Other than that their is a mall near teh college which is about 1 km from it and a kfc outlet on the reverse direction at the same distance.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are world class, they are quite big as compared to other government colleges. Till the 3rd year you will be allotted a 2 seater room and for the 4th year single rooms. Proper care for cleanliness and maintenance is maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

Actually only 3 batches have passed the college, among which two were my seniors, so I have a good cheerful relation with them, many being very close to me.

Exam Structure

The exams are conducted in two sets in each semester, one is the internals which adds to 20 marks to the overall tally, the other is externals which add to 40 marks to the overall tally. Rest 20 marks include attendence, library paper submission, assignment and presentation, 5 marks each. The practical subject are given a different credit and their is a practical exam at the end of the semesters.

Admission

My counsellor suggested me about this college and asked me to fill the form through college's website. I.e. www.niftem.ac.in The student is required to submit his jee rank card, 12 and 10 th marksheet and personal details in the form. A merit list is prepared from the collected forms and the students are asked to deposit the admission amount in order to reserve their seats. After reserving my seat various list of documents to be presented were given which would be submitted at the time of registration after the submission of full fee for the semester. The documents included , marksheets, domicile certificate, birth certificate, identity details, migration certificate, etc . After the registration and submission of the documents, I was asked to register in the icampus which is a student personal record which contains all the data rwlated to the student including the marks, syllabus, attendence etc. Hence hostels were allowed and my admision procedure was completed.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are well educated and skilled enough for the course. They are helpful and ready to help in student's research work which is a part of their academic curriculum. Most of the faculties have vast experience and other shave come from industrial background hence give a good impression about their capabilities. It is also mandatory for them to stay in the NIFTEM campus and hence the students can actually reach out in the time of requirement. This also helps when scheduling an extra class which can also be scheduled at weekends since both students and teachers are present in the premises.
