What Students Say

Likes

The lush green campus with parks and lawns feels good.
One can play any sport here woth all the facilities provided here along with gyms.
The clubs are great affition to the campus life where you get to know different people and learn a lot.

Dislikes

The hostels should be single occupancy after the first year.
The mess food is not of the best quality and after time you start disliking it.
Some professors are very arrogant and don't know how to teach properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is good at par with top tier colleges and it being an independent institution,they set theor own curriculum ehich is updated timely.There are 8 semesters in the course wigh each semester having one midsem and endsem per subject.

Internships Opportunities

There is a training and placement division in our college which helps all the students in finding internships .Very big companies come here to give internships with very good stipend. Both tech and core internships are offered .

Fees and Financial Aid

There is an increase in the fees per year by approx 10%.Though there are a lot of scholarships like merit based and need based(family income). Without any scholarship you can assumr 4 lakhs per year expenditure including hostel mess and basic needs.

Campus Life

The campus is good with over 700 acres lush green campus. Sports facilities are also available and gyms of high standards Their are many clubs wigich students can join based on their interests irrespective of their courses. The annual cultural fest Bitotsav is also one of the fest college fests in India.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel are good. The first two years you will get sharing rooms after that single rooms,with all hostels having mess with good quality food.the hostels are also cleaned regularly .You will get food 4 times a day, with different menus for each day of the week.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

You must have passed class 12th with an Cbse equivalent board, and admission is based on jee mains rank through jossa counselling after the results are declared once a year. JEE mains is held twice a year of which the best of the two will be used to calculate your rank.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
