Remarks

The college is good, but it's far away from the city, so it's a bit difficult to commute. Even for that there is bus facility for pick up and drop.

Entrance Preview

I attempted KEA UGCET And I got a bit low rank. I opted for this college as it is in my hometown and I even got to know the faculty here are friendly and supportive.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

It's good as per my experience and knowledge is concerned. The facility is really good, but there is a lack of extra information i.e., out of syllabus like general Knowledge and all. There is also a placement train programme for 3rd-year students. Overall the curriculum is really really good and knowledge-based. The staff is supportive and friendly with the students. And most importantly ragging is nowhere found in the campus. It's strictly banned and critical action will be taken against whoever does the ragging.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide any kind of internships. We need to go outside and get our internship done. There are guidelines given to students about the internship and the students do accordingly.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement is not so good in the college. There are many companies they say are coming for a campus interview, but not all are seen on the campus at the time of selection. Some of the main campus selections are -Alpha Marine -By jus And many more. If a student is good at his soft skills like communication skills, and logical reasoning, he will automatically get placed in any company, so there's no need of any placement in the campus for that student.

College Events

3

There are many events conducted at college. Branch wise functions Fests Kannada Habba VTU youth fest for the year 2017-18 was held in our college. Internship collegiate sports VTU sports Athletics Kabaddi Kho-kho Football Cricket And many more. Many opportunities are given to the students to participate in the co-curricular activities and be proactive.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees are feasible. As the govt seat fees are almost at 70k-80k. And Management quota seat fees range from 1.1lakh to 1.6lakh depending upon the branch you choose. They are all affordable for any group of people and even facility of education loan is provided for the students. The students can even apply for a scholarship in government schemes. The scholarship is given to them based on their caste.

Fees and Financial Aid

The government schemes for the scholarship are available and we can get some amount of money through it. Even facility for a loan is provided for all the students applying under government quota. I had applied for Karnataka epass, and I get a scholarship of up to 18k each year. And I've even applied for a loan for my education.

Campus Life

4

There are almost equal number of girls and boys. Campus life is great according to my experience. Many sports are held in the college as I mentioned before. The workshop is less but some of them are good. Many co-curricular activities are held for the benefit of students. And students take full advantage of that.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel rooms are well furnished and have attached bathroom. The room is usually shared between 4-5 students of the same branch. The hostel fees are around 60k per year. The food given in the hostel is not that good. Even some rooms are available near the college at around 1k-2k per month.

Exam Structure

Exams are as per our comfort. There's no hard and fast rule for exams, there is sufficient time to study for the exams. As the dates for exams are announced at the beginning of the semester. Labs are very comfortable and no time problem for that. Many assignments are given for the benefit of the students. And all the notes are available in the form of a soft copy or hard copy in the Xerox center at the college itself.

Admission

I was allowed this college in the allotment process. I took all the necessary documents to the college and I got them verified. I was given a form to fill up my details. We need to carry some photographs for attaching them with the admission form given. And my admission was done after paying the prescribed fees.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is very knowledgeable and that is really supportive to all the students. All the necessary knowledge is given to the students and the doubts if any are cleared then and there itself. The classroom is not like one-way teaching, it's a two way like an interactive session, in which students gain a lot of knowledge and courage to speak up.

Placement Experience:

RIT's placement scenario is very good, even for the most unpopular branches such as Civil Engineering. Starting from the 7th semester, students are allowed to participate in campus recruitment, and companies come to the campus for the entire final year. The major recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Shapoorji Pallonji, Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Atkins, PWD, and Infosys for the non-core sector. Civil students on an average get ?5–6 LPA as salary, and the highest offer is usually in the range of ?12–15 LPA, depending on the company and the position. Almost 70–80% of Civil students are placed, while some of them go for higher studies or government examination.Site engineer, design engineer, planning engineer, survey engineer, and trainee engineer are the core positions that are offered. Also, non-traditional roles in IT and consulting can be taken up by those who are not interested in core engineering profiles.I will first acquire some work experience in the industry after completing my degree and then will pursue a master's degree in structural engineering to gain further specialization.

Students become elegible for placements from 7th sem onwards but we are encouraged to do internship before final itself. Most of the companies that come here aren't t1 or even t2. Highest probably would be 12L only if the student is exceptional but most would secure a package 4-6. And the percentage of students getting placed is <50%
