Likes

Campus is pretty good and log of greenery.
There are several lakes and rivers passing with in the campus.
Events and techfest are a good opportunity for students to skill.show

Dislikes

Curriculum is bit harsh and teachers are bit cruel.
Fees is to much hiked up without reason.
Hostel room quality and mess management is not good

Course Curriculum Overview

According to my rank i was only eligible for this college and the branch i am in Faculty student ratio is also pretty good 30:1. Exams are held every month during the running semester. One semester is of 4 months

Class Size: 180Course Fees: INR 1900000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Paid internships in technical institutes in postgraduate level: INR 12,000 - 15,000 per month. Paid internships in companies in undergrad level.Generally around INR 15,000-20,000 per month. Depends on the brand. Generally around INR 30,000-60,000 per month.

Placement Experience

Placement are pretty good here, many famous company such as amazon, wipro, google and many others provide cool placements, as well as student in the 6th and 7th semester are eligible for internships .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is very much hiked up, even the hostel and tution fees are to much. Total fee cost up to 20 lakhs of 4 years, if possible it can be reduced. Scholarship are provided on the basis of merit. College gives education loans also.

Campus Life

Life at campus is full of fun, there are many events occurring weekly. There 3 big fests and a biggest annual fest called bitotsav. There so many clubs based on academic and other than that. Sports facility are also up to the mark.

Hostel Facilities

Meal quality and menu is not that good, even there are few cases if unhygienic condition in the mess. Rooms are small according to dual occupancy. Cleaning of rooms is sometimes a big issue, rooms are not cleaned frequently.

Hostel Fee: INR 240000 per year

Admission

Admission process was easy and on the go, i didn't face any difficulty. College have some seats reserved for reserved categories so yes that was also a benefit. Allocation of hostels was also very smooth. I have given JEE mains to get admission in this college.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

BIT Mesra is mesmerizing!!

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
