Remarks

The college management is a fine one which intends to keep the curriculum up to date, well according to the industrial demands and though it is a bit conservative, it provides a healthy and safe environment for the students.

Entrance Preview

I gave JEE-2014 and I scored a low 140s. My priority was computers then IT and then EC. The simple reason I had these in my mind, because of the fact that I didn't want to do a field job. Also, nirma has a very good reputation in these three fields and thus being my obvious choice.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Till the point that I was studying, batch of 18, our curriculum lacked the edge that was in the field of our branch. Though facilities used the many projects and presentations and assignments to teach what's the buzz in the market, still many are left out. Though, the university is going to make a change in the curriculum and address this issue.

Internships Opportunities

Another brilliant thing that the university will offer you is internships. Dedicated faculties and the strong alumni network is the backbone of this part of the curriculum. In my branch, students get the chance to work with the Giants of the field like Intel, Nvidia, and NXP.

Placement Experience

4

This exactly where nirma earns it name. The placements of many branches are the best and the students will get enough companies to see their future with. But the problem comes to the ones who don't get enough placement offers. CS, IT and EC are amongst the top 3 to get wonderful placement season meanwhile others are not so great. And average packages in the top 3 branches range from 4-7 lakhs

College Events

2

There are two major tech fest, out of which one is organized by a student activity group, and other one is done by the entire institute of technology. Those being of fairly good quality, certainly not the biggest of fests but yes, a very creative ones. Then there are the cultural fests, one being Gujarat's biggest which pools in a crowd of 6-7000 people across Gujarat and is the best platform to develop wonderful skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Currently, you can expect it to be a bit higher than most of the private colleges that are around. Also, since no hostel is there, that costs you extra. But in return you get a good brand value to your degree, of course not the best but surely a well respected one. Otherwise, there are no extra lifestyle related costs as such.this being applicable only to B.tech

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships available, from the ones that are offered by the government to the ones that nirma personally offers. One of the best things that nirma provides is a facility called book bank, where in you can get books from library for the entire semester saving a lot of money.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is one of the best in Gujarat! There are wonderful student activity groups which organises multiple fests and sports events around the year. Also, nirma has participated in number of national level tournaments in various sports. The gender ratio is fair in some branches and opportunities are not biased according to gender or any other kind of discrimination. Nirma has a very strict anti raging policy, and is one of the safest campuses in the country.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

For B.tech, there are no hostels. But for other P.G programs as far as my knowledge is, the condition is top notch. And the food served is pretty cheap and are full of variety. The standards are very high and the university strictly checks the hygiene when the food is served.

Alumni/Alumna

Amazing! That's one of the special things about the college! There are enough student activity groups that a the relationship between the Juniors and seniors becomes a close one. Also, nirma itself focuses on maintaining a strong alumni network organising alumni meet at cetra from year to year!

Exam Structure

The exam structure is a pretty intense one. The mid terms and class test are taken consecutively, two on a single day, and thus takes a lot of preparation to see them through, meanwhile the semester ends are also taken pretty quickly. Definitely leaving the students with a hectic time to look forward to.

Admission

Well, it's a merit based system where you have to login into the nirma website, upload the details and the required documents and then the college will call for counseling. In it, your merit rank would be displayed and the branch that you can get would be there. There would be 3 rounds in which you might get an opportunity to upgrade your branch.

Faculty

3.5

The facilities are well experienced and knowledgeable. But there's a problem with communication. There are many faculties who can't explain the topic they know so well, in the classroom. But in person, they surely have the caliber to present a solution to your problem. Though, in some branches, due to lack of faculties the burden is shifted to those with less knowledge of the subject, but still they try their level best to deliver fine content.

this is tier 3 collage of surat so don't expect higer placements and big mnc come for the placements, in my placements they commited over 25+ local companies come from surat but actually only 15 has come and only 20 students got placement accross over 200 students(computer + IT). and the average placement is 2.5 lakh oper year. and most of the companies are red flag because they want students to sign 1-2 year bond with very low salary. then lets about training for placement, its ZERO big ZERO they dont provided the placement training, i have seen 90 students from 120 gets failed in apptitude round. they have not provided training for cracking the coding interview only those students are placed who have done preparation by it self even 9+ CGPA students didn't get placement.

Course is actually pretty nice . Subjects are tought according to the needs but the problem is about they do not update course according to the needs like `right now everyone should know how to use AI tools well , these small thing should also include in it. Apart from technical subjects they also have communication , ethics , personality developemt as a subject too but with less credits.

Placement is there and around 92-95% students get placed every year which is quite good in current economy. Highest package offered was 12LPA which is decent for aa college openend less than a decade ago. Average package is around 6LPA to 7LPA. There is no restrictions in semester in which a student can apply for placement but usually 3rd and 4th year students are the one applying. My plan after degree is higher studies in colleges like Monash etc
