Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Becoming a doctor seemed like a noble thing to do and to serve the society felt like it would give me purpose. In the first year of MBBS, we have three subjects and in each department there are 20 to 25 including pg residents. All the faculty are highly qualified and residents are highly capable. The teaching method is accessible and good. Sessional exams are timely spaced and final university exam is conducted at the end of the year for which more than 75% students pass. The exam is moderate

Internships Opportunities

3.5

After 4.5 years of mbbs, we have one year of intership in the hospital itself. The hospital is one of the biggest in the country and asia itself renowned for its gynaecology department. we have most bedded strength in the country and variety of cases. The hospital because of it's immense patientload prepares a lot of medical knowledge and prepares you as a doctor.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had reservation benefits as OEC candidate and had reduced academic fees but still had to pay library fees, pta fund etc cost around 20k. I also didn't have to pay hostel fees. This benefit is offered by the state government and only be availed to if i continued to study instate.

Campus Life

4

There are many programs conducted throughout the year for various festivals. All medicals books and journals are provided in the libarary that is kept up to date. Well electrified lecture halls with adequate space and ambience to study. Well equipped labs are also present in each department. Sports and extracurriculars are priortised and various camps are conducted for each sport to teach and engage those interested. There are also art, dance, literature clubs which are active and conduct events regularly. Fun events are conducted by the college union occasionally.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility is little bit congested for first years. One room has 6 people. There is bed for each and a minimum of 2 tables and chairs are provided. The mess provided decent food with variety in menu and provides meals four times a year. The mess fee is affordable. Registration process done alongside your college admission and is not immensely difficult. The hostel fee is also affordable

Admission

I had to qualify neet for which I prepared for one year in a coaching institute after passing 12th. The application form is available in the official NTA website. The application fee was 1600 for OBC and application process begins a few months before the exam. I belonged to OBC category and hence had reservation benefits regarding all things including application fees, category rank and allotment of colleges.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
