- proper infrastructure required to study the course
Dislikes
- exorbitant fee structure which makes it difficult for students of middle-class backgrounds
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because of my passion. The course is immaculate, and the faculty are helpful and nurturing. There is a 1:20 ratio. Faculty members are mostly masters and PhD degree holders. Mid term and end semester exams are regular, and can be managed with proper academic care.
Internships Opportunities
Internships occur in the fifth year. Fifth year students are given internships based on their portfolios and the internships happen in cities across the nation. Internship jury happens after the ninth semester.
Placement Experience
Architecture students are eligible for campus placements in the fifth year of study. Companies like Samsung and Ultratech visit the campus. About 80% of students take placements, others opt for higher studies. After getting the degree, I intend to expose myself to the industry before thinking about further progress.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is more or less suitable for a private college of architecture, where the course duration is five years. No scholarships are given to students other than the KIITEE toppers. No campus job with stipend is provided. Financial assistance limits to the Loan Letter.
Campus Life
The KIITFEST is conducted in February. It is an envigorating fest, encompassing all departments and includes different kinds of activities. Apart from it, Hackathon, Chimera, etc are also conducted. The Central Library has a plethora of books. As for the Architecture Library, it has books on every topic related to architecture. Classrooms are state-of-the-art. Sports facilities are present throughout the campus. Extra-curricular societies and clubs, including MUN, Literature, Film etc are present and are run by the students. There is a thriving social life on and off the campus. The infrastructure is splendid, and leaves no cause for complaint. Moreover, because of its proximity to everything and anything required, the campus is perfect.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities include two to three bedded AC/Non-AC, Premium/Non-Premium. Washrooms are provided in Premium hostel rooms, along with separate wardrobes, spacious beds, a desk and a comfortable chair. The wardens are cooperative and careful. The meals are regular, various and good enough. To register for hostel, one needs to fill up a form during the initial admission process.
Admission
The admission process was through KIITEE. The eligibility criteria was 60% in boards, and required marks in KIITEE. The application form, fees, dates, etc. are available on the website. I do not wish to see any other improvements.
