Engineering life in IGIT

It is an autonomous institution but not yet a University. All the courses are designed by board of the institution. There are so many faculties for different departments & courses. All the faculties here have done P.hds in their respective fields. Term exams here happen in a gap of at least one and half months. On this basis students get easy to score good marks in the exams.

The institute provides 1 to 2 months non- paid internship in verious companies like - Nalco , NTPC , HAL , RSP, IOCL , PPL, IFCO . Some companies provide 6 months paid internship like MEGHNA , COLLINS AEROSPACE , HYDX etc.

Campus also provides placement for students after 6th semester. So many companies are linked here like Tata , Adani , TRL , LNT , TCS , JSW , TGC , Axis Bank , etc Minimum eligibility criteria for attending placements is to get a Cgpa above 6.5 & also 60% in 12th grade.

As it's an autonomous institution the course fees for Core & non-core branches are a little bit different. Fees for branches like - Mechanical , Electrical , Civil , Chemical, Mettalurgy & Production is approximately 28000 per year While fees for Electronics & telecommunication engineering (ETC) and Computer science and engineering (Cse) its 70000 per year. Scholarships that the college provides are - Post matric Scholarship , E-medhabruti , Kalia & Sudksha

It has a nice campus that is situated on the bank of river Bramhani. College life is very good because there is a fest inside the campus every now and then. Fests like Aarohan , Horizon , Anwesan , Vistaar , Admentium , Aadvik , Technix , Cosmito , Parivardhan & athelete meet etc are very nice to enjoy the college life. Classrooms are authorised with Smartboards and projectors. Students run various societies like - Drishya360 , Social service guild , Anonymous etc.

To get into IGIT , its the same usual process like the other engineering colleges i.e, you have to go through JEE MAINS entrance exams then you can get admission in the branches of respective cut-offs. Application form for the entrance exam is available in the website of NTA. Reservation is only for SC , ST & other state (Jammu&kashmir and North east ) students.
