Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

the course curriculum was very good, tbh it was totally worth it to study there. the main reason for choosing the course was from the 5th sem in my bsc i got relly interested in genetics so i decided to do msc either on genetics or biotech, and delhi university is a very renowed university in india so i had given the entrance test of it. so besically i was interested in genetics and I got selected for an other university in genetics but being a better option to study in every aspect I chose it. see the faculty-student was very good it was almost 1: 1.5/2 something like that. all the faculty are highly qualified and skilled. they have research experience for years. and the teaching method was very practical based. there are 4 semesters and every sem has its internal, practical, and viva exams along with a theory exam. taking about difficulty level it was not so hard like iit type but it has a standard level. even it also varies from faculty to faculty.

Fees and Financial Aid

being a central university there was not to fees hike like things but yeah i studied in south campus of delhi university so the hostels are there not comes under university its kind of private so its kind of normal hostel types, so there you have to much. yeah there are scolarship in the university and department separately. though thereyou get hardly job placement. most of the student to do higher studies in this field like PhDs.

Campus Life

3.5

yeah campus life was fun. actually my campus was south campus so it was not so crowded like north campus,it was surrunded by greenery inside the campus there was evrything health centre, canteen etc. main thing is the campus was not to poluted unlike actual delhi because the campus is full of trees. though there was no fest for whole university but departments usually arrange their own. but every cultural and scientific day was celebrated by the university. its library is one of the best library i have seen, there are collection of current copy of importants journal and you will get every types of books. in the classroom there are projector and own printing system for student yeah in the campus there are badminton court, vollyball court, football, cricket ground so there you can play your sports. though there are some social groups but i was not active there.

Hostel Facilities

3

hostel facility was kind of okay okay beacuse in the 1st year you will get a shared room and in the 2nd year you will get a separate room. yeah you will get a study table along with a study chair and single bed , fan and 2 lights in the room and a wall almira. meal was also okay okay , breakfast was good but dinner sometimes gets bad.everyday there was different menu but it will repeat after weeks and you will get variation in the food menu. yeas there could be some problem in getting hostel rooms in 2nd year because they will provide a single for each so each department have a certains number of room to allot the student and it was given according to merit list. outside the campus there are rooms and pgs to rent,so there would not be any difficulty to afffort rooms.

Admission

Its admission process was simple you just need to give a entrance test only and after the result they will publish the 1st list of candidate who are qualified, from the vacent seats they will publish 2nd list and so on.if you got selected they will mail you separately to pay the fees and required details within a period of days. cut off varies on categary if you have any categary then its kind of easy to get admission but for UR its always high cut off. Its a interdisciplinary subject in biology so if you have a bechelor degree in any subject in the field of biology(zoology, botany, microbiology), you are eligible in this course, like for me i was biochemistry(hons) graduate. Everything is available in the official site of delhi university about the form, fees, application dates. even many site gives updates on this. being an central university the fees are very less and you will get many benefits of reservation if you have it. they should reduce the time for admission.

Other Applied Colleges

Delhi University - [DU] | Master of Science [M.Sc] (Forensic Science)

on that time of admission class are happening online so it being a practical subject i didnot go for it.

The students become eligible for placements in the last semester. Primal Group, Allen Career Institute, Akash Institute, etc a lot of companies came for placement. This is a time of recession. So, very few students get placements. My plan is to join the coaching industry as a teacher after my degree.
