What Students Say

Likes

The amenities available according to a tier 3 college
The classrooms are good with projectors and good computers.
The campus is very big which can host pretty big events.

Dislikes

Some faculties really just teach to just get their salaries. They do not teach that good. I am only talking about some, others are good
Thier are not many tech fests and tech activities going on. Just once or twice a year
Placements are not that great but they are somewhat good relative to other colleges in the city

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because I always had an interest in CS. faculty to student ratio is fine and average as you would expect with a tier 3 autonomous college. The faculties are mostly either graduated or had a master's degree. The teaching methods of some faculties are really good and some are average. Term exams were on time and they were relatively normal to pass.

Placement Experience

I heard from my seniors that placements are very mediocore. Some students get placed in their 6th sem and other in their final year. They always try to throw students away from being in the placement program. They will give rubbish reasons why you are not eligible etc. And the students who got placed are mostly placed in average companies. But there are some students who got placed in really good companies

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike policy is something I have not known about. The cost to study depends on whether you choose to live in a hostel or not. The hostels are average and not that expensive however there is a more expensive hostel specially for girls. There are multiple scholarships like punjabrao deshmukh with provides funds to students living in hostels.

Campus Life

There are annual fests every year. Mostly between feb to march. There was an event named kalavihangam last year. Availability of books are very good at the library. We have classrooms with projectors and seminar halls with ACs for events. There is a cricket ground for the students and overall sports is good. We run a students whatsapp community to discuss various activities.

Admission

I had my admission through thier management quota. I filled some forms. They were mostly about my past details like board percentage etc. I did not gave any entrance exam. After filling the forms and following their instructions, I paid the fees at the counter and my admission was confrmed.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus.
