Remarks

My overall experience is that the best part of the college is the senior junior relationship , it is very good in our college lot of workshops are organized by our seniors for the development of juniors. They will always be there to help you anytime.

Entrance Preview

BIT Mesra is under JEE and so to get into Bit Mesra you have to write JEE mains and get a decent score.I was from Ranchi and so i had heard about it a lot and at that time it was ranked 17 and so it was better than many IIT and NIT and there is no interview selections are done only on the basis of JEE Mains marks. I choose Electrical and Electronics as i had a genuine interest in Electrical.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

EEE is a good branch you have a lot of scope there if you are good in software you can go for software industry, if you have interest in higher studies you can go for GATE and MS and if you are interested in core jobs you can go for that also as there are some core companies also like Tata, Vedanta,Maruti visiting the campus. Practical is not that much focused by faculty members but as a student if you are interested you can do that as seniors are very helpful and there are a lot of clubs that will help you in that.

Internships Opportunities

Yes around 6-7 companies comes for internships so around 30-40 student gets internship but not in core in core only 1 or 2 company provide internship. Also there is student exchange program where around 10 student gets the opportunity to do internship in foreign universities but that is based on GPA. Average stipend is around 30 k.

Placement Experience

3

Placements for CSE and IT is very good i guess more than 50% student gets placed in with good package(more than 10 lac per annum) and rest also gets placed in decent companies it totally depends on student as all big giants of software industry except google and Facebook visit our campus. But when it comes to core it is not that good compared to software very few core companies come for placement.

College Events

5

The biggest fest that happens in our college is Bitotsav it has a budget of around 40-50 lacs it is a cultural fest. The biggest technical fest of the college is Pantheon and there is also Vajra( sports fest), Genesis and a lot more and these help in overall development of student and there are a lot of college that attend these fests. These are completely managed by students and faculty support them in that.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is high.Earlier it was low but now it's little high but it is still least among all other private university as it is a semi private university.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides GP Birla scholarship for economically backward student if they get good CGPA .Getting a loan is easy as there is a state bank inside our campus so you can get a loan easily.

Campus Life

3

There are lot of extracurricular activities that takes place in our college throughout the year such as Bitotav, Vajra (annual sports fest) and also there are a lot of cultural clubs and they organize a lot of events throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

4

First year student are supposed to share the rooms with another student this is being done to increase the interaction amongst the students and after that each student gets a separate room. Food quality is overall slightly better than average. The rooms are quite spacious for a single person. One has to approximately 20000 per semester for room and food but it varies every year.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a strong alumni network there is a special cell called student alumni relation cell that maintains a strong relationship with our alumnus and they contribute a lot in the development of other student. They help technical clubs such as Robolution, Srijan, Firebolt, Aveon with fund which they require as they take part in international competition. There is also a lot of interactive sessions where they help us getting familiar with the working culture of industry.

Exam Structure

It depends on the department and faculty in our college only ECE branch is little stressed rest all branches are chill. There is not much of exam pressure.

Faculty

2.5

Some of the faculty are very experienced but some are not but considering it is a semi private, the ratio is still good compared to other private colleges. Some faculty are really very educated and if a student shows interest then he/she can easily do research work under them as they are very helpful. While some are not interactive at all and i guess this is the case with most of the colleges even IIT.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.
