Remarks

My rank was 1897 in the exam of IAT, which is the IISER aptitude test, conducted by IISER Pune at the time. Now IISc and IIT Madras also take admission for several courses via this IISER aptitude test.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is a bit on the tougher side, however the faculty members are really great and helpful. You have to rigorously study if you want good grades and also wish to maintain a decent CPI.

Internships Opportunities

There are several internships available right from the first year. Students can also individually reach out to the professors for opportunities. There are also numerous abroad opportunities available for students.

Placement Experience

Placements are offered by this college, but very few students choose to go for it. Most of the students apply for PhDs after completing their degrees. I plan on doing the same. Companies such as Nomura, Dr Reddy's etc are the ones that come here to seek students in their final years.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is minimal compared to any other institute in the country. There are several scholarships for girls, people belonging to economically weaker sections, and the INSPIRE scholarship. There are several internship opportunities provided by the college.

Campus Life

Campus Life is great. It is filled with natural and scenic beauty. There are almost all the books of the course curriculum in the library. There are several sports played here such as cricket, football, badminton, basketball, kho-kho, kabaddi, athletics, lawn tennis etc. There are also sever student run and faculty run clubs operating in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is great. Mess food is okayish. The registration process is easy and all the students are assigned hostel rooms. Presently each room has two students. There's no need to think of procuring a PG.

A brief review of IISER Bhopal

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is very research driven, and it is very flexible too. Course is as per the New Education Policy and is relevant to modern industrial needs. However the Curriculum is all around Pure Sciences, like the B.Sc but just the college is much better than a normal BSc college. First two year is given to students to get along with subjects that they want to study in future, in the third year they choose their Majors. Quizzes are frequent and occurs biweekly, while Exams occurs every month and so.

IISER BHOPAL : A HOME FOR MANY

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum trains students in various research fields, including lab and theory. The course prepares a student to get either a industry position, or PhD position. The course curriculum can be improved by porividing more exposure to students who havent experienced, these fields. Exams are good, easy if youve understood the course content. These exams are based on a wide information of the topic, and are not limited to just one textbook.

My thoughts on IISERB

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I am just in my first year right now, the courses I have are fairly introductory. But since we have to study PCMB, Earth Science, Programming and a Humanities course just in the first year, it's fairly hard to manage. we have 2 quizzes, a mid sem exam and an end sem exam in each semester typically at the end of each consecutive month (4 month semester). The marking scheme, syllabus, paper pattern, time, difficulty etc are all subject to change according to the professor.

Placement Experience:

As it's a research institution, more emphasis is given to academia and research instead of placements. We have an active placement cell, but still, it's lackluster compared to engineering colleges. The average package hovers around 10 lpa, and only a handful of people get placements. Most opt for Phd or an MBA.

Knowing IISERB engineering sciences

Placement Experience:

Mostly from 8th semester onwards students become eligible for sitting in placements and getting preplacement offers in their applied companies. Companies like nomura Bank ,Barclays and Dr Reddy's lab have visited the campus in the past. Mostly all the students get placed because less number of student sitting for the placements. According to last year data around 31 lakhs per annum was the highest package and the average was around 10 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get into a foreign university for my higher studies.
