Likes

The students are friendly and overall environment is good
Few of the faculties are really helpful and are very qualified teachers.
During exams the library is opened till late night.

Dislikes

The placement services could be improved.
Most of the teachers focuses on completing the assignment rather then overall development of the students.
The library and the labs are outdated they need to improve.

Course Curriculum Overview

I completed my diploma in computer science and thus looked forward to make career as a computer science engineer. BE CSE is the best course for that thus I enrolled in engineering. The exams were conducted half yearly that means for every semester we have a final exam and unit tests in between

Placement Experience

The students would become eligible for the placement as soon as they hit the 8th semester nevertheless the placements were pretty bad most of the times the companies which come for placement were fraudulent. We were charged extra for the placement services and never got any placement from the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is something which remains same throughout the years as it is something which is discussed at the time of admission. For me it was fixed at 75000 per year thus there was no hike on that.

Campus Life

There is no sports to be specific as such but we had annual fest in the college where every students from each department can take participation. It consists of various of programs such as fashion show, dj nights, singing competition etc.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel fee was 65000 per year and if you compare that to services we were getting it was quite ok as the rooms were equipped with seperate cupboard, bed, a table and a chair for each student. A total of 3 students live in each room with the common washroom per floor.

Admission

I completed diploma and the criteria was to have above or equal to 60% this I was eligible. There was no entrance exam. I had a friend who was already enrolled in the college and he helped me to take the admission. There was no reservation benefit as I was from different state.

LIFE AT NITK

Placement Experience:

Placements at NITK Surathkal are very good overall, and the EEE department consistently sees a high percentage of students getting placed-85% to 90%+ However the placement profiles and salaries vary a lot depending on whether you go core electrical jobs , software/IT jobs we students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester companies start arriving fro pre placement talks and tests ,some students also get PPOs done in the 3rd year summer internshis companies visiting nitk for eee students are: TEXAS INSTRUMENTS SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC SIEMENS ABB L&T TATA POWER BOSCH. My personal plans after getting degree is either get placed in a good company then later prepare for civils services examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The VTU syllabus was bit difficult to crack, but the course we good , it was a fun studing the syllabus, but the syllabus was not related to the placement, we struggle a lot to get placed in the final year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since my kcet rank was low I want a good clg so I choose this college I choose electrical and electronics. also I'm very interested in electrical department I wanted eee branch so I choose this Curriculum actually helps you to learn and solve real world problems since it's a core branch you have to concentrate on our syllabus. We get to learn lot of things also we have 4 labs there you can learn practically . In our clg they additionally we have lab Called skill lab there you can learn lot of things additionally . I feel they should add some programming language as subject in eee additionally even though we learn that in 1st year there should be continuous so . Even our colleges provide boot camps for 10 days every sem where experienced trainer will come and teach you but I feel that's not enough they have include programming languages as our part of curriculum. In internals they provide 1hour time for for 30 marks and sem exams 3hr for 100 marks so it's manageable .

Sambhram College & its placement

I applied to many colleges in Banglore as well as outside banglore. The colleges outside Banglore like Parul University, Nirma University, Gujarat Technological University and few others. I didn't go to any of the colleges outside as I wanted to live in silicon valley of India Banglore. In Banglore, I got into Ramaiah Institute of Technology, CMR IT, Dayanand Sagar College, Reva University. I chose Sambhram college instead of all these options was mainly the fees. The fee amount of Sambhram was very less and didn't require any extra donation or amount for admission. The admission at my college comprises of just the 12th results and entrance exam results if given. The cut-off for admission is only 80% in 12th.
