Internships Opportunities

Asutosh college provides internship. Every year many students of journalism and mass communication join in this. It is open for all students of this department. Companies will sort the best student among them

Placement Experience

2

This college provides very good placements and job opportunities. My seniors got jobs in merchant companies, which required many students. IT companies also come here for placements every year. All the things are satisfactory, and you can come to the college and experience it for yourself. Some students join the banking sector through the campus placements.

College Events

4.5

The events conducted in Asutosh college are amazing. Technical, cultural, and management festivals are organised here. Fossils come here frequently. There is too much gathering in Asutosh memirial hall during events. The college even distributes food at the time of the event.in Freshers welcome ceremony Nazrul manch is hired every year. All students enjoys alot.

Fee Structure And Facilities

According to me, the college fee structure is very expensive for lower middle class students. Sometimes, students has merit but cannot effort the money and don't get a chance to study in a such upper columned college. For journalism and mass communication, students has to pay 21,500/- annual in the year 2018 admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

Most of them dont opt for loan.. Still if they want to take a loan , then they can take it. Our college provides fees concession. There are lots of organizations providing scholarships to the deserving students. Many students in our college were granted concession in thier fees.

Campus Life

4

Asutosh college campus is a loveable place for all students i think. I'm not sure about exact gender ratio.Student/Dorm Parties, workshops, cultural societies or Student diversity and tolerance are not regards to gender. No sexual orientation. Too much politics

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The environment is very friendly. The teacher-student relationship is excellent. Our seniors are very helpful. I love my college very much. It has given me lots of things in my life. This discussion also helps us to learn and understand the topic in a better way. The seniors were always beside us whenever we needed any sorts of help. They also help us to get familiar with the college environment. We have lots of college events every month. At least 2-3events. Our college is invited to most of the top colleges of Kolkata during competitions .. Asutosh college also provides a big platform to their students to show up their hidden talents.

Exam Structure

The regularity of lab works and exams are very good in one word. Every week they provide an exam according to Calcutta University's new rule and also provide a practical class (lab). If students want they can practice in lab other days. A teacher is always available for students. They are very frank. They are just ideal teachers. One of the best college to get success.

Admission

After higher secondary result, the form will publish online on Asutosh college site. You have to fill the form with your details like your identity and marks etc etc. You can make payment by bank challan or online payment. After that a provisional list will publish within 3 or 4 days. Then college will call the selected students for counseling in 3 or 4 stages. In 1st counseling, they will call Students according to provisional list's ranking. This process will repeat in 2nd, 3rd and 4th(optional) counseling

Faculty

4

The teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They help the students in every way, and they feel responsible for the students future. In journalism and mass communication department, the present HOD, MC is always ready to help the students. every student will get help in every way that they want or need the teachers. One has to keep faith in the system and teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the theory part of our curriculum isn't much relevant or prepares for real - world applications, only some basic information is what I feel is necessary, although the lab and the practical part prepares us for real - world applications and teaches us a lot of things related to photography, news paper page building, survey report, etc. I believe they should have a better approach and teach more relevant real - world or in demand market skills which'll help the students in the future. Exams are conducted 2 times in a year, once between March - april, and second time between August - September.

Course Curriculum Overview:

From my childhood, I'm into music and this course allows me to further widen my knowledge of the entertainment industry, films, Television and etc. So this course will allow me to understand how media and journalism world works, and help me pursue the art that I love. The timings could be better of the college, but rather than that everything is mostly good. The frequency in my opinion, should be reduced to 3 main semester exams, and to have small mid semester exams throughout. That's my perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. I opted for this course because I thought it would have a good practical work, with good exposure and experience. But this course has nothing as such. The documentary we did was done all by ourselves. College did not help at all. There was a photo journalsm option in one paper but our college did not let us study that. They did not teach anything about photography, no practical training was given. 2. None. The curriculum doesn't prepare us for the real world at all. There is no professional study or activities. No preparation for interviews or real world jobs. Only theoretical and advices from our faculty. College doesn't provide any activity that can help us for the real world job. 3. More and more practical work with the help of college. More exposure needed. High quality software and equipments are needed. Students need a GOOD professional lab. More exciting activities for students. Placement opportunities, internships etc. 4. BAD. Per sem arrives in 2.5 months, too short time

Course Curriculum Overview:

Journalism is one of my favorite sudject . One of the reasons for choosing this subject is that only a journalist can highlight the good and bad aspects of our society before the people. The scope of the subject is journalism but it is huge. We can learn not only journalism but also photography, radio, film studies etc. The behaviors of all the professors in the journalism department in this college is very well. They very carefully explain all the topics thoroughly to the students so that the students do not have to face any difficulty with those topics later. Every year two semesters are taken every six months if the students do all the classes carefully and study well then they can easily pass by getting good marks
